With theOlympic Update,Hades 2introduced a new construction mechanic that allows players to customize the Crossroads as they see fit. This mechanic is similar to the House Contractor mechanic fromHades, and usesDoraas point person for all available projects. To pay for these renovations, players will be usingPrestige, which serves a similar function to the original game’sGems. How players acquirePrestige, however, is slightly different from the processHadesplayers are used to.
Hades 2’sPrestigecurrency is a completely new item created for the sequel. While it’s most likeHades’Gemscurrency, there are some important differences that significantly streamline the overallconstruction process inHades 2.This guide will show players how they can getPrestige inHades 2,the best way tofarm Prestige, andwhat to do with Prestigeonce you have it.
How to Get Prestige in Hades 2
Before players can begin tocollect Prestige inHades 2,they must first unlock and complete one of thenew incantations from the Olympic Update. The incantation players will have to complete isEarthly Fortune. The Earthly Fortune recipe is as follows:
Update theWretched Brokerto bestowPrestigein exchange for almost any surplus resource.
Bones x 1000
Returning players who have made significant progress should find this incantation available at the Cauldron as soon as they download the Olympic Update. It is currently unknown if the Earthly Fortune incantation will be made available to new players. As soon as that information is discovered, it will be included here.
Visit the Wretched Broker:
Once theEarthly Fortune incantationis complete, you should receive a small amount ofPrestigeto spend. Even so, you should visit theWretched Brokerat the Crossroads to see how the Prestige mechanic works.
When you interact with the broker, you’ll now see a symbol at the end of the menu tabs that looks similar to a recycle symbol. This is thePrestige tab, where you’ll now be able totrade any surplus items for Prestige.
How to Farm Prestige in Hades 2:
While the typical idea of"farming"for a resource doesn’t really apply here, players can quite literallyfarm for more Prestige inHades 2.While the Prestige values for various items can vary quite drastically, there are a couple of items that provide an easy opportunity toget Prestige fast.
Nightshadeis one of the easiest plants to grow inHades 2,given that the seeds are found in Erebus. It’s likely that returning players will have a large stockpile of Nightshade seeds already. While they aren’t as valuable asThalamusorPlasma, they are significantly easier to stockpile and grow. Each Nightshade is worth 44 Prestige, and the chances are you won’t need Nightshade at all after clearing all the Incantations inHades 2.So feel free to cash them in.
It appears that theWretched Brokeronly accepts items you no longer need in exchange forPrestige. While this is not 100% confirmed, you’ll notice that not every item you have is available to trade. Still, use caution with any extremely rare items like Plasma. It is far easier to get the Prestige another way than to hope you get lucky in the Chaos domain.
How to Use Prestige in Hades 2
You’ll likely notice after returning from your first run postOlympicUpdatethatDorahas one of the larger interaction markers above her head. Speaking with her when this appears will inform you of thenew construction mechanic inHades 2,whichDorawill run.
Dora can now be found in three locations at the Crossroads:
Begin Construction:
Interacting with Dora in each location will reveal a different list of possible construction projects. At her usual location, Melinoe can have work done on her tent. Near the Cauldron, Mel can update the surroundings for most inhabitants of the Crossroads' main chamber. Visiting her near the Silver Pool can currently update the Skelly’s Dais.
Many of the construction projects you’ll encounter will call for more than Prestige, so, if you plan on crafting everything available, make a habit of collecting every resource you can. Boss items are a common requirement, especially Wool from Polyphemus the Cyclops, who is the Guardian of the City of Ephyra.
It is likely that what is available now is only the beginning for the Crossroads construction project. UsingHadesas a guide, Supergiant will probably continue to add projects asHades 2continues toprogress through Early Access.
