There are many things to consider when trying to make it in a post-apocalyptic world. There is always the danger of unfriendly factions and wild creatures, or the potential invisible harm that comes from the environment, and more likely than not, the reality that resources are finite and you may run out of them without knowing it. That is something that players have to keep in mind constantly inThe Forever Winter.
As part of a group trying to survive in the “Forever War,” it is extremely important that players get their act together in order for their Innards to survive and even prosper. Beyond having solid defenses and survivors willing to head into danger and scavenge, the valuable resource of water is of utmost importance. Here’s how you can get water barrels and ensure that you don’t run the danger of death by dehydration inThe Forever Winter.
How to Find and Get Water Barrels in The Forever Winter
The easiest way to obtain water barrels in thisextraction shooteris by completing quests when exploring the various regions in the game. Knowing the exact rewards for fulfilling a specific request will make it easier for players to plan ahead. However, such quests may not always be available, and when that happens, you must prepare yourself to head out into the wild to obtain water barrels to maintain the water reserve back home.
As such, knowing where to look is going to be very helpful, and while the following locations do not guarantee spawns for water barrels, they have been consistent enough after several extractions to warrant a visit if you are in the area.
Scorched Enclave - Cemetery
After choosing this entry point and entering the location in question, keep moving forward until you spota tower towards the eastwith a bright light at the top. Hug the wall on the right and make your way over to the tower, avoiding enemy contact as much as possible. At the tower, get up onto the ledge andgo beneath the structure, which is where a small water barrel can usually be found next to a Medical Crate.
If you still need more, look to the eastand head through the gap andclimb the ledgethere. Here, you should be able to grab another water barrel near the barrier. With both water barrels in hand, you should now make your way northeast to the nearby extraction point to escape. As usual, try to avoid combat as much as possible to give yourself the best chance of getting out with the loot.
Backat the Innard, head to the Water Management Station and use it to transfer the water from your stash to the reserve. This will help keep your water reserve healthy, and prevent any unwanted disasters when you are offline.
