Metaphor: ReFantaziohas both a real-time combat system and a turn-based combat system known as Squad Combat. While Squad combat is the main focus of the game, the real-time combat that occurs in the overworld is a useful feature to give players the edge in battle.
Weaker enemies are able to be killed outright in this real-time combat system, while stronger enemies can only be stunned, giving players a free turn at the start of battle should they choose to engage. There is a specific level gap tokill enemies in overworld combat; here’s exactly what it is and the general levels for each color of the enemy.
How To Kill Enemies In Overworld Combat In Metaphor: ReFantazio
Enemies that appear blue when using Fae Sight can be killed using real-time combat, andonly enemies that are three levels lowerthan the protagonistor more will appear blue. This is only determined by the protagonist alone, and won’t factor in the rest of the party of any equipped Archetypes. Enemies that appear blue will take a lot of damage with each attack in the overworld, though the exact number of attacks will vary based on the Protagonist’s Archetype and level.
Physical-focused Archetypes tend to deal more damage in the overworld and can make killing enemies much easier, while magic-focused Archetypes tend to do less damage but will usually defeat a weak enemy in no more than two attacks.
If an enemy is weak to a type of physical damage, theirweakness can be hit in the overworldto deal increased damage.
Level Ranges Of Fae Sight Colors In Metaphor: ReFantazio
Enemies outlined with Fae Sight will appear as either blue, yellow, or red. Whenever you see a new enemy for the first time, they will appear as gray and have a question mark where their level should be. To get their level and have them change to the correct color, simplyland an attack in overworld combat or face them in Squad Combat. While the colors give a good general idea of the threat level for an enemy, here’s the exact level difference.
3 or more levels lower than the protagonist.
1 or 2 levels higher or lower than the protagonist.
Red
3 or more levels higher than the protagonist.
Most enemies in a current dungeon will appear as yellow, and getting the basic enemies of a dungeon to be blue is a great indicator of whether you’re ready to face the boss of that dungeon or notdepending on your difficulty.
