TCG Card Shop Simulatorgives players the ability to run their very own trading card shop. While there are a lot of fun upsides to this, there is one challenge that comes with running a store: inventory management. Without the right stock, players may end up losing money on valuable sales. That said, investing in too much stock that doesn’t sell well can also end in disaster.
Thankfully, there are a few things that players can do to manage their inventory easily and efficiently. Good store management allows players to grow and expand their stores quickly. It can also help to free up some extra time that can be used toinvest in new stockand open packs.
Quick Storage Tips
There are lots ofthings that players can do to make managing stock a bit easier. Some things will take some time, like investing in storage shelves, while others can be done on day one. New players should try to implement some of the quickfire tips below to help make their stores run as efficiently as possible.
Keep An Empty Box Nearby
Your store will be changing constantly. As you unlock new products, you’ll want to move stock around regularly to keep things looking tidy and organized. Using your hands to move items from one shelf to another is a time-consuming task. Also, there will be times when you don’t have any empty boxes on hand to move things around. This is especially true after you’ve hired workers to fill shelves. To help keep things moving.Keep an empty box behind a register. If you leave the box open, then the employees won’t actually pick it up. It’s best to do this with a larger box as you’ll be able to fit more in it.
Pack Shelves With Stock On Them
If you decide that you want to overhaul your store entirely, then using a box to move things one at a time isn’t the best way to go about doing it. Instead, you can pack down a shelf into its box with the stock still on it.Not only does this make rearranging things easier, but it can also be a great way to manage inventory. If you fill a double-sided shelving unit with surplus stock, then you can just take it out of the box and place it on the shop floor, fully stocked and ready to go in seconds.
Get Your Orders Ready Early
After you have placed an order, it’s worth getting your next order ready to go. You don’t need to buy the order, instead, keep it in your basket until you need it. By doing this, if you find yourself running out-of-stock fast, you’re able to restock your items quickly. Ordering stock when the store is open can take you away from other vital jobs. So, if youpre-prepare an order before the day begins, then you are less likely to run into trouble should you start running low on stock.
The Best Way To Store Excess Stock
There are a few different ways that you can store your stock. Some players just keep their excess stock outside, in the same location where the stuff is delivered. This isn’t ideal as it can be quite difficult sifting through things to find a specific item. Other players will carefully stack excess stock on top of a shelf.
This can be good in certain situations. If you manage to throw a box on top of a shelf, then you’re able to very quickly fill it up when stock runs low. However, loose boxes can be a little bit buggy. Sometimes boxes will fall off the shelf, and then they can end up getting pushed around the store.
Unsurprisingly, the best way to store stock is to use storage units. These units can be purchased in the My DIY App. There are 2 main storage units to choose from: the Small Warehouse Shelf and the Big Warehouse Shelf. While they aren’t much use during the early stages of the game, once you’ve expanded your stock variety, you’ll find yourself needing a place to store your boxes.
There are a few things that you should note when using warehouse shelves. The first is that you can place 2 large boxes,or 4 small boxes, in any given section. Keep in mind that the boxes must have the same items inside to be placed on the same shelf. Second, the handy labels that appear on the shelf are not only a great way for you to gauge what items are selling the best, but employees will also place boxes back in their correct space after stocking shelves.
Using storage units is alsoa great way to gain some extra XP. Players get XP for most actions. This includes ordering stock. If you have extra storage shelves to fill, then you’ll earn extra XP.
How Much Is Too Much?
Prices fluctuate regularly, so what might sell great one day, can quickly take a dive. While there’s no definitive answer as to how much is too much, a good rule to keep in mind is that it’s better to have too much stock than not enough.Players should aim to keep two boxes of each item in reserve. That way, you are less likely to run out of stock.
When you unlock a new product, you may be tempted to purchase lots of boxes. For the most part, you are much better off only buying a couple of boxes of a new item. If you invest a lot of money in a new item that doesn’t sell very well, you are going to be sitting on some expensive stock for a while. For the most part, things like card packs andrare single cards will be your best-selling products.
The Best Times To Order
The two best times to order are before opening the store and after closing the store.During these times, the clock doesn’t move. Essentially, you can take as much time as you need to replenish your stock without any customer interference. That said, if you have employees hired to stock shelves, then order your stock in the morning before opening your store. Despite the day not having started, employees will still fill shelves before the store is opened. However, in the evening, they will go home once the clock hits 9pm.
It’s also a good idea to open packs when the store is closed.
It’s also worth keeping an eye on prices. If something is cheaper than normal, buy it straight away. Becauseprices will change regularly, it’s always best to try and buy cheap, even if that means that you have to sit on some extra stock for a little while.
When Should You Expand The Store?
There are two costs that come with expanding your store. The first is the initial cost. This cost will vary depending on the upgrade. The second cost is an increase in daily rent. Because of these costs, it’s best to try to hold off on expanding your store until it is absolutely necessary.
Even with a small store, you should have enough space to offer customers a decent variety of products. Once you have outgrown your store, then you should start expanding it. Whether you invest in more space for store A or buy store B instead will depend on what type of set up you are looking for. Just be sure to have plenty of stock to fill the extra space. It’s much better to have a fully stocked small store than it is to have an empty large store.
