Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZEROfeatures plenty of great single-player content, with the game’s fantastic Episode Battle mode providing the lion’s share. However, those who venture into the Custom Battle menu can also find a series of special Bonus Battles, which lean further into thewhat-if?-style shenanigansthat make the game’s story mode so compelling.

There are 40 Bonus Battles inDragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, each of which will provide players with EXP and Zeni upon its completion. Many of them also reward unlockable characters and Battle Ability items, making this a must-play mode for those hoping to unlock everything for themselves rather than simply purchasing it from the shop using Zeni.

Most of the Bonus Battles inSparking Zeroare fairly easy to complete. Updated June 23, 2025, by Thomas Bowen:The release of the first DLC pack introduces three new Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO Bonus Battles, two of which rank among the most difficult in the game. Those returning to the title after a long absence will likely need to spend some time practicing, as taking down Cell Max at the Cell Max games and defeating Dr. Gero and his Androids can be incredibly difficult for rusty players. Sadly, the rewards for completing these new Bonus Battles are a little lackluster, although players can at least gain a sense of satisfaction from knowing that they’ve completed some of the game’s hardest content.
