Braving the world of Euchronia solo can be tough, so you’ll need your loyal companions to aid you in battle. Asplayers progress through the story, they’ll meet several characters who’ll become their followers inMetaphor: ReFantazio. Each follower will have unique skills that will be effective against certain enemies in the game. So, meeting all the followers, and utilizing their particular archetype against enemies is one of the major gameplay mechanics ofMetaphor: ReFantazio.
How to Unlock All Followers & Their Archetypes In Metaphor: ReFantazio
There are a total of14 Followers in Metaphor: ReFantazio, ranging from battle companions to providing support. You’ll be adding these followers to your squad by earning their trust as you progress through the story. Each follower features a unique Archetype.
Warrior
Obtained during the Klinger fight in Nord Mines.
Barge Past: Receiving a hit won’t trigger a battle with enemy advantage.
Thief
Fight Heismay twicein the Giant Sandworm’s nest.
Pickpocket: Allows you to steal an item from a stunned or defeated enemy.
Junah
Dancer
Reach Virga Island and complete the “Save the Mourning Snakes” side quest.
Victory Dance: Recovers MP and HP after an enemy is stunned or defeated.
Eupha
Summoner
Reach Virga Island and complete “The Trial of Malnova” side quest.
Status Differential: Enemy attacks won’t trigger enemy advantage during Squad Battles.
Basilio

Speaking to Basilio on the Gauntlet Runner after the events at Altabury.
Combat Specialization: Receiving enemy hits won’t trigger enemy advantage in squad battles and recovers HP on enemy stun/defeat in overworld battles.

Complete the side quest “Providing a Spark.”
Comeback Victory: Recovers HP on each enemy stun or defeat during overworld combat.
Healer
Spend time with Maria in the Honeybee Inn.
Support Recovery: Recovers HP on every support attack hit in overworld combat.

Complete the “A Friend in Need” side quest received fromCatherina in the Mausoleum.
Surprise Upset: Ability to stun stronger enemies in overworld combat easily.
Alonzo

Complete “A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake” side quest in Martira.
Commander
Unlocked after completing the “Apprehend the Real Kidnapper” main quest.
Enhanced Cooperation: Easily stun enemies with support attacks in overworld combat.
Merchant
Complete the “A Bullish Embargo” side quest from Brigitta.
Alchemy: Chance to earn a small amount of money on each enemy stun or defeat.

Chase Support: Increases the likelihood of support attacks from squad members in overworld combat.
How to Level Up Followers (& Why)?
Finding all the Followers isn’t all that tough, as you’ll unlock most of them along the path of the main story inMetaphor: ReFantazio. However, most of your gameplay willfocus on leveling them upto access thestronger versions of their Archetype.
Simply engaging your Followers in conversations and completing their various favors will help you level them up to gain a huge advantage in combat, and even enjoy discounts at shops. They’re often feeling especially chatty when you’re traveling in the Gauntlet Runner.
If youreceive an odd quest or two from them, try to complete it as quickly as possible. When you’re visiting cities, you’ll see the Follower icon (handshake) pop-up on the map. You’ll also need to rank up your Eloquence, Imagination, Courage, Wisdom, and Tolerance stats inMetaphor: ReFantazioto engage in further conversations with your followers to rank them up.
