Metaphor: ReFantaziohas over 40 Archetypes, most of which are accessed by mastering the previous Archetype of the same lineage andincreasing the bond with the protagonist’s Followers. Some Archetypes unlock by progressing through the story, while others require players to complete specific side missions and requirements.
One of the early game Archetypes is the Brawler, which is easy to unlock and introduces a new Follower. This guide gives an overview of the Brawler and how players can unlock it.

How To Unlock The Brawler Archetype In Metaphor: ReFantazio
After the King’s Funeral and a short story segment, you may exploreGrand Tradfreely. There are side quests and bounties to complete in the city, but you can also head straight for theMausoleum Catacombs, a main story dungeon. You must complete this dungeon within the deadline; otherwise, your mission of saving the Prince will fail. On your second visit tothe Catacombs, go past the locked gatesand head straight to find aParipus WomannamedCatherina. She requests that you find her friend, who is inside the Catacombs, along with other hostages.
Explore the dungeon until you find a locked room with the key on the floor below next to a sleeping soldier. Opening the door reveals all the hostages, and you also find Catherina’s friend, who has sadly passed away. Catherina will come up to you, and after a short conversation, you will complete the “A Friend in Need” quest, giving you 5000Reeve. You will then have Catherina as a Follower and unlock the Brawler Archetype, which you can study atMore’s Akademeia.

Physical Strike
Thestudying cost for the Brawler Archetype is1200 MAGLA (MAG). The Brawler is weak againstIce-based attacksand RepelsPhysical Strikeattacks. The Hero Passive makes it so that stronger enemies are stunned more easily in overworld combat. The Brawler Archetype is one of the few Archetypes with a complete kit focused on dealing Strike damage to the enemy at the cost of health. The other Brawler skills are primarily passive skills that boost the critical hit rate of attacks, and this amplifies if other party members also pick an Archetype of the same lineage.
Many enemies are pretty weak against Strike attacks later on in the game, so mastering the Brawler tounlock the Pugilistis a must if you want to make those boss fights much more accessible.
