Unlike a more traditional story mode, the Episode Battle mode inDragon Ball: Sparking! ZEROallows players to experience the iconicDragon Ballstory from a number of different perspectives. Initially, players will be locked into playing as Goku, but right after jumping into the mode, they’ll gain the ability to play as otherfan-favorite characters like Vegeta, Piccolo, and Frieza.
In total, there are eight playable characters in Episode Battle, although two of these won’t be available for quite some time.Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZEROplayers will need to unlock the Future Trunks and Jiren sagas separately from all of the others. Thankfully, the process is still relatively simple, although it will require a fair amount of time.
How to Unlock Future Trunks and Jiren in Episode Battle Mode
Players will be able to unlock the Future Trunks and Jiren sagas by playing through Goku’s saga. More specifically,Future Trunks is unlocked after players complete the Future Trunks ArcandJiren is unlocked at the end of the Universe Survival Arc; both of which are in Chapter 7 of Goku’s saga. It should take most players an hour or two to reach this point, although those who stop to exploreall of the Sparking Episodes and what-if? scenariosmay take a little longer.
What Do the Future Trunks and Jiren Sagas Cover?
Future Trunks' saga is definitely the meatier of the two due tothe character’s various appearances throughoutDragon Ball Z. Comparatively, Jiren’s saga is incredibly short, as the character only really features in the Tournament of Power and fights mainly against Goku. That said, he does have a few additional fights, and, like Future Trunks, has Sparking Episodes available for those willing to seek them out.
