Summary
Hunter x Hunteris moving steadily in its Succession War, andHxH404 will be an intense chapter, to say the least. Indeed,the death of a few of the Kakin princesseems more likely with every passing chapter, and with that, the events of this Succession War are only going to heat up.
However, despite all that, there is still hope, and ending this Succession War with as little blood spillage as possible is not out of the picture.
The Fall of Prince Benjamin in HxH 404
Prince Benjamin is the oldest of all the princes, and definitely the one with the most power, especially with his military influence. Even with all that power, however, Prince Benjamin is in some deep trouble due to Balsamilco Might’s recent actions inHxH403. Indeed, without much knowledge about Halkenburg’s ability, Balsamilco still tried to go and attempt an assassination. However, that did not end as planned and his body has now been taken over by Halkenburg.
Balsamilco Might is Benjamin’s most trusted man, and the one who keeps him in check to make good, rational decisions. With him being taken over by Halkenburg, this means Benjamin will not be able to make the soundest judgments. Benjamin has already threatened to invoke Martial Law if Balsamilco leaves without finishing off Halkenburg. If Benjamin does declare Martial Law, that could be catastrophic and give him the ability to execute other princes. Halkenburg will definitely try to avoid this.
Halkenburg has a few possible paths he could take inside of Might’s body. Currently, it is not entirely clear if Halkenburgcan use his Nen abilitywhen in someone else’s body. But if he can, it could possibly allow him to take over the body of the first Prince Benjamin.

Indeed, if Halkenburg can somehow fake his own real body’s death, or if he were to kill his old body as he will find a new one, that would clear Benjamin of suspicion when it comes to Might. This would mean that Halkenburg in Might’s body could go back to Benjamin’s room and possess his body with his Nen ability, Grimmel the Dissonance. With Halkenburg in Benjamin’s body, that would give him a huge lift in the Succession War, and maybe even give him enough authority and power to find a way to end it with no more bloodshed.
On the other hand, however, if Halkenburg can’t use his Nen power in Might’s body, he still has a potential plan he could leverage against Benjamin inHunter X Hunterchapter 404. Indeed, if Halkenburg can again convince Benjamin that he is dead, he could return to Benjamin as Might, and instead of using his nen, he would use TSK-17, the weapon that Balsamilco had intended to use to assassinate him.
This would mean that Halkenburg would kill Benjamin, as well as some of his men, and maybe even Balsamilco, which would cause Halkenburg to return to his own body and no links could be made back to him, successfully eliminating one of the most dangerous princes inHxH404.
One major issue that Halkenburg could come across in doing this would be Benjamin’s nen beast, whose power until now remains unknown, and probably for a good reason. Perhaps, that reveal will come in Hunter X Hunter Chapter 404.

Zhang Lei’s Nen Beast Ability Revealed
For many chapters now, Prince Zhang Lei, one of the oldest princes, has been brainstorming to figure out what his Nen beast’s power is, and what the coins will do. However, on his own and with the ideas of his men, he has not been able to find any real answer. That’s why he wants to see ifKurapika will figure out the answer to this. He will probably send one of his men to the next Nen meeting to meet Kurapika and try to unravel the mystery of these coins inHunter X HunterChapter 404. With Kurapika’s experience, an answer will definitely be found.

With the next round of Nen workshop beginning on the next day, on the 12th, Kurapika has more in his plans to do. Indeed, he wants to go forward and tell the people in attendance that he plans to reveal the content of Queen Oito’s letter. It’s not yet fully clear what Queen Oito’s letter contains, but that information might not be something the higher-ranking prince wants revealed. Some high-ranking prince might come into contact with Kurapika in HxH 404, a possible one being the second Prince Camilla.
It’s also possible that, very soon, a way to end the succession war without the deaths of the princes might be revealed by Kurapika. This will create a rift between princes who want the deaths of their siblings, and the princes who just want to make it out alive.
The Assassination Attempt on Luzurus Could Come in HxH Chapter 404
Prince Luzurus Will Be Assassinated For Fugetsu’s Sake
In HxH 403, the assassination of 7th Prince Luzurus was not attempted. However, The Nen beast who took the form of Kacho affirms that the next night, they will attempt it.
This will be a major moment in this Succession War, as it has been a while since one of the princes have met their death. In HxH 404, Fugetsu was able to enter the room of Luzurus, giving her access to it when the mission commences.
On the night of the 12th,Melody and her groupwill take Luzurus from his room and into the area with the lifeboats. If they successfully manage to transport him all the way there and on a lifeboat, they will be able to send him to sea. Leaving the area of the Succession War is not allowed, and anyone who attempts that will lose their life, as seen with Kacho, who died from doing the exact same thing.
As Luzurus works with drugs, the group will easily be able to blame it on drugs and clean their hands from what happened. However, one problem that stands still is whether Luzurus is actually the one responsible for the deterioration of Fugetsu. It is pretty likely that his Nen beast is innocent, as that would likely go against the rules that these creatures operate under. They cannot harm other princes. The real culprit will probably be revealed as someone else inHunter X HunterChapter 404. Fugetsu could probably be one of the next casualties if the person harming her is not found in time, as her time is running out with every passing day.
