Gojo’a Death At The Hands Of Sukuna Shocked The Fans

Gojo was unsealed towards the end of the Culling Game Arc, and immediately, a battle between him and Sukuna was set up. As this battle was set up, fans immediately knew that it would be the greatest one in the entire series, and that no other battle would even come close. That remains to be true to this day, despite many incredible fights taking place after Gojo vs Sukuna. Not one fight managed to come close to this incredible clash of majestic proportions and that just goes to show that, at the very least, Gege enjoyed this phenomenal battle. Gojo vs Sukuna was an incredible clash where both of these sorcerers used their might to the absolute best. Given that these are the two strongest sorcerers of their respective eras, the Clash of Gojo and Sukuna was always going to be titanic. When these two sorcerers clashed, normal rules started to not make sense, which just went on to show that the scale at which they operated was completely different from regulars.

Yet, they were evenly mashed and were able to one-up the other across the battle. That said, Gojo certainly was at a major disadvantage, given that Sukuna had access to not just his own technique, but that of Megumi Fushiguro as well. The 10 Shadows by itself was strong enough to rival Gojo’s Limitless and Six Eyes at its peak, as was implied by the author himself earlier in the series. On top of that, there was Shrine to deal with, which essentially saw to it that Gojo couldn’t fight with as much ease as he would if there was only one to combat.

The strongest Shikigami of the 10 Shadows, Mahoraga, proved to be the biggest thorn in Gojo’s side, and eventually became the reason why he lost. Thanks to Mahoraga, Sukuna gained the ability to expand the target of his technique and cut through Gojo’s Infinity, killing him in the process inJJKchapter 236, and fans were utterly shocked by this decision of the author, despite him having been the overwhelmingly dominant fighter at this point in the story. His death was completely anticlimactic, and at the same time, made little sense at the time. That said, fans felt that it was not the end of him at this point in the story and there was certainly more to follow.

How Yuta Took Over Gojo’s Body

Yuta Copied Kenjaku’s Technique To Use Gojo’s Body

While Gojo Satoru died, the battle vs Sukuna continued. In the meanwhile, Gojo’s body was retrieved by UI Ui, and was taken back to Shoko. His body was stitched up as well as it could have been, which essentially meant that there was more to come from Gojo. That is precisely what happened when Yuta fell in battle to Sukuna. Just like Gojo, he was chopped in half. Yuta was also taken back to the same place where Gojo was, and just before he passed away, Yuta transferred his brain to Gojo’s body, thanks to Kenjaku’s technique that he had copied. Essentially, then Yuta utilized the power of reverse cursed technique at the absolute maximum level and he gained access to Gojo’s body.

Yuta then headed off to the battlefield, and engaged Sukuna in combat once again, using the body of his sensei. With Yuta’s return to the battlefield in Gojo’s body, the second round of this point essentially began. This fight was just as impressive as it was in the first round, but the scale was much smaller, and at the same time, it didn’t last for long. The fight immediately began with the domain clash between these two, and this battle was eventually won by Yuta in Gojo’s body. Sukuna was even struck by a Hollow Purple, which, under normal circumstances, should have killed him from that range.

Haven’t we had enough of Gojo Satoru already? – Gojo

Sadly, becauseYuta did not have any mastery over Gojo’s body, Sukuna survived. At the same time, his technique gave out before 5 minutes, and Yuta lost control of Gojo’s body altogether. From that point onwards, Gojo or Yuta did not play any part in the fight against Sukuna. It came down to Yuji to defeat the King of Curses, and he did so flawlessly.

After the conclusion of the war, fans were wondering as to what happened to Gojo and Yuta, given that they were both stuck in a suspended state in more than one way. At the end of Jjk, the author provided the answer to the fans, and it was certainly an interesting one, to say the least.

Gojo’s Final Fate At The End Of JJK

Gojo Satoru Is Officially Dead

At the end ofJJK, it was revealed that Yuta Okkotsu had returned to his body. Essentially, Rika had continued to use reverse cursed technique on Yuta’s body and healed it to the fullest. Then, Rika also continued to keep Yuta alive, who was in Gojo’s body and made it so that the brain was transferred back to his own body. Rika essentially acted as an anchor to bring back Yuta and fans saw him return. Meanwhile, Gojo’s body, which had also been fully healed thanks to reverse cursed technique, was potentially set up for a revival In the minds of the fans.

Unfortunately, this revival, which could very easily have been possible, was not a part of the story.Gojo wasn’t even addressed in the final segment of the series, and neither was his death acknowledged by his students properly. Nobody paid tribute to Gojo from his friends or his students, and he did not even get a funeral at the end. It is safe to say that Gojo’s conclusion was certainly incredibly underwhelming for a character of his stature, and that the author did not do justice to him at all, regardless of how much fans would like to defend this decision.

Gojo’s conclusion was certainly one of the very worst onesthat any character received inJJK, and that certainly disappointed the fans quite a bit. That is not to say that Gojo wasn’t a good character. Fans will always love the iconic Gojo Satoru, who stood on top as the strongest and, at the same time, was also an incredibly exciting and charming figure, always thinking of his students before him. While the author could not do justice to him in the end, the fans will remember him as Gojo Satoru, and not just the strongest.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s last chapter, JJK 271, was finally released on Jul 30, 2025. Fans can read the series on theManga Plusand the Shonen Jump apps.
