There is very little information yet about when the sequel will be released, but it is likely that it will continue to be produced by the same studio with the same cast. From Web Novel to Anime
WhenLockdone Zone: Level Xbegan in 2017, it was only a web novel being published in a manga and light novel app called peep. The original story was written by Romy Oishi. That web novel was then adapted into a manga by meshe, published from July 2020 to March 2022. That same year, it also became a webtoon adapted by taskey STUDIO. Finally,Lockdown Zone: Level Xwasadapted into a light animein 2024, airing from September 6th to October 12th on CBS Television in Japan.

By October 24th, the app peep will be releasing20 chapters of full color mangaforLockdown Zone: Level Xin Japanese, which will all be available for free. It is likely that they will be translated in due course, possibly by Denpa, and then be available in English as well to keep fans happy until there is more news regarding the sequel.

Lockdown Zone: Level Xis considered a ‘light anime,’ which is not the same as ausual anime series. Light anime are often shorter, comprising fewer episodes than a full series would normally have. Light anime are also more simply animated, costing less money to produce along with taking less time.Lockdown Zone: Level Xis currently the third light anime that has been produced by studio AnimationID. The previous two projects wereMoriarty’s Perfect CrimeandMaarui Kanojo to Zannen na Kareshi, which also released in 2024.
Light anime may be something that has become more prevalent in the anime industry. As the industry continues to grow and produce more and more anime, having a way to create shorter, less expensive series faster is likely to become popular. Anime series now take a lot of time and money to produce, and not all shows are successful enough to generate the income needed. If a series likeLockdown Zone: Level Xis able to be successful, it may be the start of a new trend in the industry.
