Earlier this year, details leaked about asequel toLords of the Fallenthat has been in the works at CI Games. Reported to be titled “Death of the Fallen,” the sequel was also rumored to be aiming for a 2026 release. As part of a new2025-2028 roadmap from CI Games, the publisher confirmed thatLords of the Fallen’s sequel, internally referred to as “Project III,” has entered full production, legitimizing the earlier reports of the title aiming for a 2026 release. Lords of the Fallen Sequel Is In Full Development, Coming 2026

Considering the current timetables of most AAA games, a three-year turnaround for such a big Soulslike game would be quite impressive assuming development ofLords of the Fallen’s sequel goes smoothly. While 2027 seemed more probable, Souls fans will surely be happy to seeDeath of the Fallensooner. With CI Games mentioning a “more commercial art style,” it’s a bit unclear whether it simply means improved graphical fidelity or if the sequel really will go with a different art style. CI Games also made mention of two other games it has in development, Project SGW Evolved and Project H. The former is the next entry in itsSniper Ghost Warriorfranchise, while Project H references a fantasy action RPG in development at Underdog Studio using Unreal Engine 5.

Since all three of these games are in development at different studios, they’re unlikely to hinder each other’s progress. With theLords of the Fallensequel looking to release in 2026, fans should expect its official reveal sometime next year. The landscape of major Souls games over the next two years seems quiet, withFromSoftware having yet to reveal its next gameand Neowiz quietly working onLies of PDLC.Lords of the Fallen’s sequel can potentially distance itself from direct competition depending on what 2026’s game release calendar ends up looking like.
