InMetaphor: ReFantazio, players can allocate points to five stats: Strength, Magic, Agility, Endurance, and Luck, at level-up, increasing the effectiveness of the playstyles dictated by each stat.

Understanding what each stat does and which ones are worth investing precious points into is key information to have in this game, especiallyat higher difficulties. While Strength and Magic are fairly self-explanatory, the Luck stat is a bit harder to understand. Here is how it works.

How Does Luck Work in Metaphor: ReFantazio

Luck is one of thefive main statsplayers can allocate points to inMetaphor: ReFantazio. Allocating points toLuck increases critical hit rate, item drop rate, status ailment infliction rate, and the effectiveness of certain skillslike those used by the Merchant Archetype.

What Is Critical Hit Rate

It’s important to note that increasing Luck will not increase the chance of your hits landing; it will onlyincrease the chance of dealing critical damageon hits that do land. Hit Rate can be increased by putting points into Agility, one of the other stats. Critical Hits can be scored on melee attacks as well as melee skills.

Skills that deal magic damage, like the Mage Archetype’s Bot or the Seeker Archetype’s Cyc, do not benefit from increased Luck because they cannot critical hit. Only physical skills can crit.

What Is Item Drop Rate

Every time the player defeats an enemy, they will receive a set amount of Experience,Archetype Experience, Magla, and Reeve. In addition, there is a small chance they will receive weapons, armor, accessories, consumables, and valuables, depending on the type of enemy they defeated. Putting points intoLuck increases the likelihood of one of these items dropping after a victory. Luck does not increase EXP, A-EXP, MAG, or Reeve.

What is Status Affliction

Certain special skills and items inMetaphor: ReFantaziocan inflict status effects on the enemy like Burns, Charm, Forget, Stun, and more. However, even if a skill says it can inflict Forget, for example, the chance of this happening depends on Luck. This means that theLuck stat governs the likelihood of status effects being inflicted on enemieswhenever a relevant skill or item is used.

Skills Affected By Luck

There are two types of skills that become more effective with more Luck.
