There are 47 Archetypes for players to unlock and use inMetaphor: ReFantazio, with More being their ally in studying and learning the mysteries behind this power. Tohelp the Protagonistgrow, More will continue to give quests to rank up his follower level, which centers around unlocking and leveling up Archetypes.
The first quest focused on the Healer Archetype, though that one is obtained naturally through the main story and can’t be missed. More’s second quest, “More’s Task Chapter One: Ordeal,” focuses on the player unlocking the Gunner Archetype, which is missable unless you know where to look.
How To Unlock The Gunner Archetype In Metaphor: ReFantazio
The Gunner is the Archetype of Neuras, the driver of your Gauntlet Runner. While he is introduced earlier in the story when the Tournament for the Throne officially begins, you won’t be able totake steps toward getting him as a follower until at least 6/29. On your trip to Martira, you’ll begin the quest, “Providing A Spark,” with the reward for that quest being the Gunner Archetype and getting Neuras as a follower.
To complete this quest, head to themain fountain in Martira to find the Gloomy Youthand begin the quest, “Hatching A Plan.” Getting this quest will allow you to travel to Komero using the table on the gauntlet runner.
It will take one day to travel to Komero and teleport back.
Komero isn’t a full town to walk around in. On arrival, a short conversation will play out where you will get the relic and notebook to return to Neuras in a following cutscene that will automatically trigger. By the end of the cutscene,Neuras will be added as a follower, and you cansummon the Gunner Archetypethe next time youreturn to Akademia.
The Gunner Archetype is excellent in overworld combat as you can attack from a range using the crossbow. While equipped on the Protagonist, kills or stuns while in the overworld will restore HP for the party, much like theMage restoring MP.
The Gunner Archetype is able to use its basic attack from the backline without losing any damage while doing Pierce damage with its basic attack and most abilities. Not only does this Archetype not lose damage when fighting in the backline, butsome of its abilities require the character to be there. Completing More’s quest also gives five Hero’s Fruit, which can be used to give a quick start in strengthening the Gunner.
