Despite fierce competition from third-party brands, Microsoft’s headsets were amongthe best headsets for Xbox consoles in 2024.
After variousrumors about the updated Xbox headsetsurfaced on social media, Microsoft confirmed that a refresh had arrived. According toMicrosoft, the 2024 Xbox Wireless Headset is now available for $109.99 through various retailers, a $10 price markup from the previous generation. One of the key features of this refreshed headset is the improved battery life, which offers up to 20 hours of use before needing to recharge. Dolby Atmos will be supported on the Xbox Wireless Headset at no additional cost, but Microsoft clarified that features such as Windows Sonic and DTS Headphone: X may require additional purchases or downloads. Like before, the Xbox headset can connect to Xbox Series X/S consoles via direct pairing by pressing the green button behind the left ear and pressing the sync button on the Xbox console.
Microsoft Launches Updated Xbox Wireless Headset
Recharging the Xbox Wireless Headset is done via the USB-C connector located on the back of the right ear slot, and the headset comes with a 14-inch cable for that purpose. Mobile devices andWindows PCs can also be connected via Bluetooth 5.3, which may broaden the appeal of the new Xbox headset.
