Who is Stain?

Stain Grew Tired of False Heroes & Sought To Rid Corrupted Pro Heroes From Society

Akaguro Chizome, also known by hisvillain name, the Hero Killer: Stain, is a heinous criminal who sought the deaths of unworthy Pro Heroes. InMy Hero Academia, Stain is a revered Hero by villains and discriminated citizens. However, this ill-famed rise is not how Stain began his career as a villain.

Before becoming known as the Hero Killer: Stain, Akaguro Chizome was one of the many bright-eyed youths who admired All Might and his ideology as a Pro Hero. With this idolization, Chizome entered a Hero course in high school to follow in the footsteps of his idol. Consequently, this is where Chizome begins to despise the Hero society and the premise of those seeking to become Pro Heroes.

Fueled by this revelation, Stain soon dropped out of the Hero course in high school and became a vigilante. During Stain’s time as a vigilante called Stendhal, he would dispatch the villains the Heroes could not convict. However, this only occurs when he does not wear his vigilante suit; when he is not masked as Stendhal, Chizome is an ordinary citizen who idolizes Heroes.

However, after encountering the Vigilante heroes Knuckleduster and The Crawler, he becomes enlightened and forgoes his mask after having his nose broken. Chizome then casts aside his mask as Stendhal and his “face of deception” and thus, sometime after, becomes Stain and seeks to rid the world of false heroes inMy Hero Academia: Vigilantes.

However, Stain sustained substantial injuries during the battle against Deku and Todoroki. He is soon arrested and placed in Tartarus, where he is treated for his injuries and imprisoned. What Happened to Stain in the Final War?

Stain’s Final Act Took Place Alongside All Might, His Idol

Before the Final War arc,Stain finally meets and initiates contact with All Might, believing he was among the many citizens defiling his statue. Stain has always admired All Might, even after he became a villain, believing that All Might is the only one worthy of being a true Hero. At this time, it was All Might that needed comfort and a boost in morale.

It was Stain who stroked the flames beneath him. Although All Might was now without a Quirk, Stain believed it was not his Quirk that saved others but his smile and willingness to protect the people. Before leaving All Might, Stain implied that he already knew about his deflated body and also left the information from Tartarus to All Might.

Come end me, the man who has murdered 40 heroes.

Although Stain is a villain and Hero Killer, he dies alongside his idol, assisting All Might during his battle with All For One. As previously mentioned, All Might is no longer a Quirk; however, he was gifted with a tactical suit, which he used to battle against All For One.Stain showed up amidst the battle, using his Quirk BloodCurdle to prevent All For One from moving.

As Stain was about to bring down his blade on All For One, All For One quickly resorted to one of his many strategic moves. All For One had been aware Stain would be up to something, as he was the only one who did not rally alongside him after he was released from Tartarus. To stop Stains Quirk,All For One used the QuirkPhlebotomy, an antigen modification that rewrites his blood’s composition.

This resulted in Stain’s Quirk being useless but useful to All For One, as he was quickly killed by All For One and stole Stain’s BloodCurdle Quirk. In his final moments, Stain reminiscences about his life and how All Might was the one who taught him the meaning of being a Hero. Ultimately, Stain continued tobelieve in All Might, the only Hero he had ever idolized, and in his final moments, he wished that All Might would win the Final War against All For One and keep living.
