Typically, the lighting changes automatically when players selecttheLeft BehindDLC inThe Last of Us Part 1,but by pressing buttons in the sequence shown, the lighting can be changed manually instead. Fans were largely shocked by the reveal in the replies to the tweet, stating that in all their time playing, they had never discovered the feature, seemingly due to the very specific sequence required to achieve it.
The reveal came as part of the developer’s routine celebration of “The Last of Us Day” on September 26, which commemorates the in-universe date in which the cordyceps fungal outbreak kicked off the apocalypse. Despite the occasion, however, many fans expressed frustration toward Naughty Dog for the lack of meaningful new content for the series,such asthe now-defunctThe Last of Usmultiplayer gamewhich the developer previously promised.
