These two games stand out among the franchise, being based on theF-Zero: GP Legendanime and featuring a few characters that are otherwise exclusive to that series, alongsideF-Zeromainstays like Captain Falcon and Samurai Goroh. The addition of these two games adds to Nintendo Switch Online’s collection ofF-Zerotitles, bringing the total number to four. Only major franchises likeMarioandZeldacan lay claim to larger collections on the service. For one of Nintendo’s lesser focused-on series, that statistic is notable.
The only remaining mainlineF-Zerogames missing from Nintendo Switch Online areF-Zero: Maximum VelocityandF-Zero GX.
F-Zero’s Profile Has Notably Raised in Recent Years
In addition to having so many past games made playable, therecently updatedF-Zero 99is another sign of Nintendo’s continued interest in the franchise. It has been 20 years sinceF-Zerohas released a mainline entry, and the series has maintained an enduring fanbase in spite of that.
