Now,The Sims 4has revealed that its next major expansion pack,Life and Death, will be launching its first trailer on October 3. In advance of the full trailer,The Simsteased a short video on October 1. The teaser doesn’t give away much, showing a rotating shot of what looks like aGrim Reaper. However, the video rotates around to show the Reaper’s face, who looks like an ordinary Sim. The teaser text states “Embrace What’s Next” before announcing that the trailer will launch at 8 am PT on October 3.
The Sims 4: Life and Death Teaser Gets Community Excited
AlthoughThe Sims 4saw its most recent expansion pack release just back in July, many players seem to be amped up for this upcoming expansion. Many players are speculating that the game will introduce a new career, allowing a player’s Sim to become a Grim Reaper. Eagle-eyed fans have also pointed out that the area outside the window in the teaser looks unique, possibly hinting at the addition of a new town. Official information from EA has been kept to a minimum, so speculation is running wild among fans.
How exactly as Reaper career inThe Sims 4would work remains to be seen. The Grim Reaper has been a series staple ever since the original game releasedThe Sims: Livin' Large. The exact wayThe Sims' Reaperhas worked has varied from game to game, but in general, it makes an appearance whenever a Sim dies to claim their soul. At that point, the player usually has a chance to try and plead with the Grim Reaper to spare the Sim, with mixed results depending on the game entry and the individual Grim Reaper’s mood. While it would be interesting to see a controlled player Sim in that role, it’s not clear what else would play into it or how it could be expanded upon.
