According to the staff, the break is needed because the studio has been releasing high-quality episodes on a weekly basis. What Will The One Piece Remaster Be Like?

The announcementstated that the 57-episode arcwould be condensed into just 21. Aside from improving the pacing, the anime will also be adding new effects and shading to make the episodes look more modern and visually pleasing. Additionally, they will add new sound effects and music, which has been a big qualm for many fans.

This decision is also beneficial to the voice actors, as many of them, especially the main cast, have been working constantly. It has adversely affected their health, so a break will serve them well.
