This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Final Saga.
Summary
The Buccaneer race is quite a special people who fans were introduced to rather recently inOne Piece. Although the Buccaneers were present in the story from before the timeskip, they were only properly expanded upon in the Egghead arc, through the character of Kuma. Fans know that Buccaneers are the enemies of the World Government and that they committed a massive crime long ago in the past ofOne Piece.
They are known to have tremendously large bodies, and giant blood in their veins. But, these people are not Giants, but a completely different race altogether. Kuma was known to be the last living Buccaneer in the eyes of the World Government, but there are certain individuals who could turn out to be Buccaneers without the knowledge of the Government.
5Whitebeard
A Powerful Man Who Looks like a Buccaneer
Whitebeard is one of the major contenders for being a Buccaneer inOne Piece. For one, Whitebeard’s body stature is exactly like that of Kuma, especially when he was a kid. Even their heights are rather similar, and fans know for a fact that Whitebeard possessed majestic strength, even when one takes his Devil Fruit out of the equation.
This strength could be derived from his Buccaneer lineage. In fact, Oda even hinted at Whitebeard being of this lineage when he compared Kuma’s size to his in the Egghead arc. Of course, Whitebeard is dead, but, it’s certainly a cool detail if he did indeed turn out to be a Buccaneer, which would connect him to the Sun God Nika in an interesting way.
4Edward Weevil
A Possible Clone of Whitebeard
Edward Weevil is the son of Whitebeard, and while a lot of the fans consider him to be unrelated to him, Miss Bakkin, also known as Miss Buckingham Stussy, is adamant about the fact that they are related by blood. She even suggested that the only person capable of finding out the truth about Edward Weevil is Vegapunk, which means that she has absolute confidence that Weevil is her son with Whitebeard.
Of course, given the stitches on his body, fans can say for sure that Weevil is not the natural-born son of Whitebeard. But, he clearly has Whitebeard’s strength in him, and likely his Lineage Factor is well. Weevil could have been a prototype for Whitebeard’s clone, and possibly with Bakkin’s elements involved. In many ways, he could very well be Whitebeard’s, and if Whitebeard was a Buccaneer, then Weevil is a living Buccaneer that the Government does not know about.
3S-Bear
A Clone of Kuma
S-Bear is a Seraphim created using the Lineage Factor of Bartholomew Kuma. Fans know S-Bear beer to be incredibly powerful, and being groomed to be one of the strongest in the entire world. S-Bear is essentially a Buccaneer. At the same time, he is also in possession of Lunarian Lineage Factor, giving him his brown skin, white hair, black wings, and a flame on his back.
On top of that, he also has access to the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi, which makes him tremendously powerful. S-Bear is stronger than Kuma can ever be, and on top of that, it is through him that the legacy of the Buccaneer race lives on.
2Bonney(Only When Using Devil Fruit)
Can Become a Buccaneer with Disorted Future
Bonney is clearly not a Buccaneer, but a human. However, fans know that Bonney possessesa very unique Devil Fruit called the Toshi Toshi no Mi. Using this Devil Fruit, Bonney can access any future and turn it into reality for herself, and for the people around her, and this works as long as she has absolute belief in her imagination. The lower her belief, the smaller the scope of the future that she can imagine herself to be.
Bonney fully knows the existence of the Buccaneers, and at the same time, she can use this knowledge and imagination to transform into a Buccaneer. Fan saw her transform into one on multiple occasions in the Egghead Island arc, and it is safe to say that she can carry on Kuma’s legacy.
1Blackbeard
An Individual with a Special Body
Blackbeard is yet another individual who could be considered to be a Buccaneer secretly. It has been established clearly inOne PiecethatBlackbeard has a special bodyand that the special body allows him to even consume more than one Devil Fruit. Of course, if all Buccaneers were able to do that, then fans would definitely have seen more people in the world ofOne Piecehold multiple abilities.
Blackbeard’s ability to consume multiple devil fruits does not come from his Buccaneer bloodline, but, at the very least, his strange body could be a result of it. The only thing going against Blackbeard being a Buccaneer is his size, which is certainly not as big as Kuma.
