Summary
After a two-week-long break,One Piecefinally returns with an emphatic chapter, and as expected, the action and adventure in the beginning phase of the Elbaf Arc continues. Previously, fans were treated to one-halfof the Straw Hat Piratesexploring a Lego-like city that was believed to be near Elbaf, but this chapter certainly added another interesting turn to the story.
At the same time, the mystery surrounding the Sun God of Elbaf, which was previously teased in the last chapter of the story, was also elaborated upon, and finally, fans got to see this character in the flesh. There is a lot to be discussed around this character, and it will certainly be interesting to see what becomes of this individual.
The Significance Of The Sun God In Elbaf
It is safe to say that the sun god is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, deities in the land of Elbaf. Fans know for a fact that the Giants of Elbaf worshiped the Sun God. This was proven to the fans back in the Whole Cake Island Arc, where Mother Carmel quelled an uprising just by mentioning the Sun God and using her Devil Fruit powers to create Prometheus, a sun homie, to trick the people. It was clear for the fans to see that the Sun God holds quitea lot of significance in Elbaf. Then, in the Egghead Island arc, this became even clearer, when Vegapunk’s message was going on. Vegapunk clearly mentioned that the Sun God was from the land of Elbaf and all the stories about him stemmed from this country as well. These tales are apparently even older than Joy Boy, which means that this is a legend of a god that existed or did not exist long ago in history. Fans also know that the Giants, Dory and Broggy easily recognized Luffy when he took his Nika form, stating that he looked just like the Sun God.
The Sun God calmed the situation and brought about a miracle!
It is clear for the fans to see that the Sun God holds tremendous significance in Elbaf, and that they worship this deity more than any other. They know that the Sun God is responsible for peace, laughter and joy, and that is precisely why this character that fans recently saw inOne Piecechapter 1128 is going to be important moving forward. Of course, as seen in the previous chapter, this character looks rather interesting. They have a shield and a spear in their hands, which is somewhat similar to how Sun God Nika was depicted by Oda long ago. But, the appearance of this individual certainly does not look exactly like that of the Sun God. This is precisely why it is important to note that the Sun God that fans saw in One Piece chapter 1128 is not real.
Who Is Elbaf’s Sun God?
Elbaf’s Sun God May Be Someone Obsessed With The Legend
The Sun God of Elbaf is not the real Sun God at all. Fans know that there can only be one Sun God and the person needs to have the power of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model Model: Nika, awakened. Of course, then, there arises another possibility. Some might believe that perhaps the Sun God is a position in the land of Elbaf that is assigned to someone in a way to pay tribute to the God. However, this cannot be true. If Sun God is respected and worshiped as a deity like no other in Elbaf, surely, the people of Elbad will want to preserve the dignity and not just hand it out as a position to anyone. Clearly, the only conclusion that one can come to here is that this Sun God is someone who loves and respects the deity so much that they chose to act like him in real life.
The Sun God is angry! Run!
What is clear for the fans to see is that this Sun God is not in the land of Elbaf. It was established previously by Oda thatall members of the Straw Hat Pirateswant to step foot on the land of Elbaf. This essentially means that Luffy and his group are not on Elbaf and the figure who calls himself the Sun God is aboard a ship.
As for what happened to the Straw Hat ship, it is highly likely that this mysterious Sun God came across the straw hats and took them to the fake world they created on their ship. Perhaps this is a practice that they indulge in every now and then and have continued for years. Perhaps the Sun God likes to play God and creates his own little world using real humans to do so. That explains why there are so many animal deities in the fake world that they created that Luffy and the Strawhats recently busted out of.
In this world, this individual wants to play the Sun God and bring about laughter and joy to everyone. This is clear from the fact that they have created an interesting world order inside the mini-creation, where they allow people to live their lives as normal. The fact that they carry a sun shield and a spear just goes to show that they idolize the Sun God and want to be more like him. But, of course, this person is certainly not going to be the Sun God.
That said, the fact that he wants to be like the sun god opens up an interesting dynamic that they could share with Luffy later down the line. As things stand, this person is currently on the chase after the Straw Hat Pirates who are attempting to flee from his grasp. Once that happens, this particular person, who is likely a higher-ranking individualfrom the land of Elbaf, will realize that Luffy is the actual Sun God. Once that happens, there is certainly a bond to be made and a connection that will drive the plot forward in many interesting ways.
How The Straw Hats Will Deal With Elbaf’s Sun God
The Straw Hats Might Befriend The Sun God Soon
As things stand, Luffy andthe group of Straw Hat Piratesare likely going to evade the grasp of the Sun God that was recently seen in the story. However, at one point, when they do escape, it might come down to a confrontation, where Luffy will take to his Gear 5 and shock the Sun God. At this point, they might realize that this person is the actual Sun God, which will be very interesting. It is also possible that the other half of the Strawhat Pirates will come across this ship of the Giant Sun God from Elbaf and put two and two together to figure out what actually happened to the crew.
When that happens,Dorry and Brogy will probably see to it that this individual realizeswho Luffy truly is, and then, a friendship might kindle in the middle of the ocean right next to Elbaf. As that happens, fans will then see Luffy and the entire crew head to the land of Elbaf, which is surely going to be very interesting. For now, fans simply need to sit back and enjoy the chase that is likely going to continue in next week’s One Piece chapter, and hopefully, things will be far more interesting then.
