This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
Summary
Elbaf is one of the most importantOne Piecearcs that fans have been waiting years for. The story arc was first teased in Little Garden, and fans knew immediately that once the Straw Hat Pirates do get there, it will set the world alight. Much to the surprise of the fans, it took over 20 years for the story to actually get to Elbaf, but now, fans are finally in the Warland, and it goes without saying that the adventure here is going to be epic, to say the least.
As always,Elbaf will see the Straw Hat Pirates at the center of things. The likely characters who get major shine in every arc, such as Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji, are going to be incredibly important in this arc as well, and there is absolutely no denying that. However, there are other characters inOne Piecewho will be given quite a lot of attention in Elbaf, and fans know that for Usopp and Nami, this arc could be absolutely massive in many ways.
Nami and Usopp Post Timeskip Problems
Usopp and Nami are two of the most intriguing members of the Straw Hat Pirates. Despite being two of the first few members to join the crew, Usopp and Nami are consistently among the weakest. Along with Chopper, Usopp and Nami fromthe Weakling Trio of the Strawhat Pirates, as they are always scared of their enemies, and Oda often uses this dynamic as a gag to bring comedic relief in various chapters. However, given that the Strawhat Pirates are a Yonko crew right now, Usopp and Nami cannot afford to remain as weak as they are. In the post-timeskip of One Piece, when every Straw Hat returned stronger, Usopp and Nami did not show much growth. That is not to say that they did not strengthen themselves.
Usopp, you could’ve dealt with a threat like that on your own! – Luffy
For Usopp, he trained his body physically so that he became stronger and, at the same time, studied the Pop Greens under Heracles. This eventually made him stronger than ever before. He even gained Observation Haki in the Dressrosa Arc, but has not utilized this power ever since. Regardless, fans know that Usopp is underwhelming as far as the post-timeskip of One Piece goes.
The same can be said for Nami. On Weatheria, Nami studied the weather arts and their superior scientific technology, and incorporated that into her way of fighting, specifically the Climatact. Usopp improved her Climatact even further, and right now, Nami has even infused Zeus into her arsenal of weapons, which means that she is stronger than ever before. But, her level of strength is not enough for her to be a fearless fighter who can take on just about anyone in combat, other than the likes of the extremely high tiers, such as the Admirals and the Yonko.
In the case of Nami, her display has been underwhelming since Whole Cake Island ended. Wano was a great disappointment for Nami, just as it was for Usopp. At the same time, Egghead hardly saw these characters do anything at all, which disappointed the fans even more. But, that isn’t because these characters are not going to be important in the story. It is largely because both Usopp and Nami are going to have their big moments in Elbaf as this arc is made for them in many ways.
Why Elbaf Can Give Usopp And Nami Major Power Ups
Usopp and Nami Share A Connection With Elbaf
The reason as to why Elbaf will be absolutely massivefor Usopp and Nami is quite simple. Fans know when it comes to the character of Usopp that he is an individual who draws great inspiration from the giant race. The moment Usopp set foot on Little Garden, he knew that he wanted to be like the Giants. His friendship with Dorry and Brogy, whom he openly calls his masters, is certainly endearing. Usopp derives inspiration from Elbaf Giants and he wants to be like them.
Now that Usopp is in the land of the Giants, it is time for him to step up greatly and show everyone that he truly is worthy of being a prideful Warrior of the sea. In many ways, Usopp’s entire dream, which is to be a Brave Warrior of the Sea, could potentially come true in Elbaf, and that is absolutely massive. This is the island where Usopp will train with the Giants, learn all about their way of life, and steel his resolve even further. Usopp will have to leave behind the cowardly ways that he has followed for the better part of the series, and actually be a reliable combatant. Of course, Oda can still use Usopp and his gag in many exciting ways in the future, but against the average fighter, Usopp will have to start being reliable, and that is an absolutely massive step for him.
The same can be said for Nami as well. While Usopp has a dream directly attached to Elbaf, Nami clearly doesn’t. However, fans know that Oda clearly mentioned if Nami was in the real world, she would be from Sweden. Fans know that Elbaf has great ties to Nordic mythology and at the same time, Nordic culture. This essentially means that, in many ways, Oda represents in Elbaf Nami’s very own home. This is absolutely massive for her. In fact, in many ways,Oda sees Nami and Usopp as a unitwhen it comes to progressing the Weak Trio of the Straw Hat Pirates.
Luffy will never stop until he becomes the Pirate King! – Nami
This Arc is going to be massive for Usopp, but it is also going to be massive for Nami. While many fans hyperfocus on Usopp, they don’t realize thatNami is the dark horse of Elbafand might surprise fans the most. Nami’s own character is inspired by Scandinavian culture, and that in itself is another proof of the fact that this arc has something in store for her. In fact, at the very beginning of the Arc, Nami received two massive moments, one which showcased her genius as a cartographer and navigator, while the other gave her a moment against the navigator of the New Giant Warrior Pirates, Road.
How Strong Will Usopp And Nami Be After Elbaf?
Usopp And Nami Need To Be Strong Enough To Take Out The Average Vice Admirals
After the Elbaf Arc,Usopp and Nami should be strong enough to actually be worthy of their bounties. In fact, their bounties might even grow further. Following the events of the Elbaf Arc. Fans know for a fact that Usopp doesn’t deserve his 500 million berry bounty. However, after Elbaf, he should be worthy of a reward of this size and, perhaps, might even get a higher reward. Nami, who has a 366 million berry bounty, should also be worthy of her reward, meaning that she should be able to fight veteran Yonko officers, such as the likes of Ulti, and defeat them without any help. That is the level that Usopp and Nami should be on after the events of Elbaf, and fans hope that Oda does justice to these characters.
