Although Elbaf has only just begun, Oda has already hinted at the massive strength of the Giant Warrior Pirates in what was a phenomenal chapter this week. Finally, fans can get an idea of what the Giants are truly all about, and why their strength is feared all over the world.
The Lore About The Giant Warrior Pirates in One Piece
The lore about the Giant Warrior Pirates has always been intriguing in theOne Pieceworld. The Giants live far more than humans, which means that their lore dates back to centuries ago. The Giant Warrior Pirates is a legendary pirate crew that existed over three centuries ago, and fans don’t know how far back it goes. What fans do know is that around 300 years ago, Jarul and Jorul used to be the Co-Captains of the crew. They used to be legendary warriors, however, at some point, around 102 or more years ago, they relinquished control of the crew.
They terrorized the whole world long ago!
This is where Dorry and Brogy rose up and became the Co-Captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates. Around this time, the Giant Warrior Pirates were known to be legendary all over the world. It is believed that they could terrorize the entire world, such was their might. It can be said that they were easily one of the strongest pirate crews of that time, and their strength was absolutely immense. The portrayal that Oda gave for these incredibly powerful Giants was magnificent.
However, the co-captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates got into a duel due to a hunting contest when a little girl asked him who had caught the bigger prey.This led to Dorry and Brogy fighting for about 102 years, and up until recently, they were still engaged in their prideful battle. This eventually led the Giant Warrior Pirates to disband and the remaining members scattered across the world as well.
At some point, some members of the Giant Warrior Pirates were set for execution in Marineford. This is where Mother Carmel stopped their execution by reminding the Marines that their execution would cause a war between the Giants and the humans. And, at the same time, that it would also bring down upon them divine retribution from the heavens. Mother Carmel was loved by the Giants for this, and because of her, the Giants were able to return to Elbaf once again. Sadly, with the battle of Dorry and Brogy on Little Garden, the Giant Warrior Pirates essentially died. Even though Oimo and Kashi, who were under the leadership of these massively powerful individuals, tried to look for them, they were eventually tricked by the Government and until recently, they did not know that their Captains were still alive and on Little Garden.
After the events of Enies Lobby, Oimo and Kashi set out on the quest to find Dorry and Brogy, and it was recently revealed in the Egghead arc that they had successfully managed to do so. Given that the weapons of Dorry and Brogy were old and battered, Oimo and Kashi convinced them to go home and get new weapons. Until then, they put their duel on halt. Now, Dorry and Brogy are back in Elbaf and they are also fulfilling their duty of protecting Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates, as seen recently on Egghead.
The Bounties Of The Co Captains Of The Giant Pirates
Dorry and Brogy Now Have 1.8 Billion Berry Bounties
In One Piece chapter 1130, Oda shocked the entire fanbase by revealing the bounties of the captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates. Essentially, it was revealed that both Dorry and Brogy have a sizable reward on their heads of 1.8 billion berries. This is an absolutely massive reward, no matter which way fans look at it. In fact, it is far bigger than what most Yonko first mates have inOne Piece, and it’s touching Yonko territory. So far, the highest Bounty for a Yonko Commander inOne Pieceis 1.390 billion berries, which belongs to King the Wildfire. Of course, then, there are also Mihawk and Crocodile to consider, but, given that they were former Warlords and are currently in a collaboration with Buggy, their case is slightly different.

But, it must also be remembered that Dorry and Brogy are not separate units. They serve together as the Co-Captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates, which means that essentially, the captain of the crew has a bounty of 3.6 billion berries, which is an absolutely staggering reward. This puts them second only to Blackbeard and Shanks among the Pirates of the One Piece World, and that truly is a statement and a half.
There are also other members of the Giant Warrior Pirates inOne Piece, but fans do not know much about them. The only ones that fans know properly are Oimo and Kashi, and even before the timeskip, they were plenty powerful. Ever since then, they have likely grown tremendously in terms of strength and skill. They likely wield Haki of the highest order right now, and have other powerful abilities up their sleeve as well.
Of course, Oda will most likely revealmore members of the Giant Warrior Pirates in the Elbaf arc. Given that the co-captains essentially have a cumulative bounty of 3.6 billion berries, the lower-ranking commanders should be around a billion berries or close, at the very least. This essentially paints a picture of how strong the Giant Warrior Pirates truly are and is consistent with Oda’s portrayal of them terrorizing the entire world long ago.
How Strong Are The Giant Pirates?
The Giant Pirates Should Be Next To A Yonko Crew
The question of how strong the Giant Warrior Pirates are is an easy one to answer. The Giant Warrior Pirates are certainly among the strongest in theOne Pieceworld.It can be said that after the Yonko crews, they are likely one of the strongest, and depending on how strong and formidable Oda makes other pirates under Dorry and Brogy to be, they might be close to rivaling the Yonko crews themselves. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, given that Oda clearly stated through Big Mom that the Giants are the strongest race in the entirety of the One Piece world, and at the same time, if they had allied with her, she would have been able to defeat all the other Yonko, including Whitebeard himself, and claimed the title of Pirate King, and fans will finally see why they are hyped up to be as powerfulas they are in the Elbaf Arc.
