They became a proper crew only after receiving Going Merry from Kaya. Luffy and his friends help Usopp and Kaya save their island from the clutches of Kuro. Following Kuro’s defeat, Usopp decidedto join the Straw Hatsand become their sniper. Due to his upbringing, Usopp became a liar. He lies about a lot of things, but they serve a bigger purpose. Why Are Usopp’s Lies Important?

Almost all of Usopp’s lies can be considered predictions about the future. So far, a lot of the lies have become reality and, as a result, are disqualified from being false. Lies do not immediately become truths, but they take time.

Whenever Usopp lies, fans can expect it to become reality in the future. Therefore, it is extremely important to remember all the lies that the Straw Hat sniper tells. Already, fans have seen many of these lies becoming truth, and with the story in the Final Saga, it is likely that the remaining will become real.

Usopp’s Lies That Have Become Real

The first lie that Usopp told was about pirates coming to Syrup Village. Many times, Usopp would shout and scream that the village was under attack by pirates. Initially, the villagers believed him, but a time came when they realized that he was just a liar.

This lie became the truth in the same arc when the Black Cat Pirates attacked Syrup Village. Led by Captain Kuro, the pirates would certainly have destroyed the peaceful village. Thankfully, Usopp’s new allies beat them and saved the village.

The second lie that became true was about a fish whose poop was so huge that it was possible to dock a shop on it. Usopp told this story to Kaya to keep her spirits up, as she was constantly sick. This lie turned true in the Little Garden arc, where the Straw Hat Pirates encountered a massive goldfish. The fish’s poop was so big that it was known as Nanimonai Island.

Of course, it was fake! I can’t lift five tons! I quit after five pounds!" —Usopp

Usopp’s lie about the goldfish also mentioned a country of small people who ate massive fish. While the goldfish part came true in Little Garden, the other half of the lie only became real in the Dressrosa arc.The Tontatta tribe debuted in theDressrosa arc. They were fierce fighters who caught and ate the fighting fish, which were present in the waters around the island. The Tontatta tribe members took a liking to Usopp and considered him untouchable.

The Mole, The Dragon, And The Cerberus

Another one of Usopp’s lies was about a giant mole inside the mansion. This lie was about Miss. Merry Christmas, who possessed the Mogu Mogu no Mi,a Zoan-type Devil Fruit thatallowed her to transform into a mole.

Usopp also lied about catching a dragon and chasing a Cerberus. The latter happened in the Thriller Bark arc, where the Straw Hats encountered one of Moria and Hogback’s creations. The beast looked fierce at first, but Luffy and his friends tamed it in no time. The crew came across a dragon in Punk Hazard. It was rather massive and could easily wipe out an entire town. Roronoa Zoro took the responsibility of eliminating it, and he did so with an aplomb.

The First Bounty As Sogeking

When Luffy received his 30 million bounty, Usopp claimed it as his own, which was obviously a lie. But this lie also turned real. Usopp was posing as Sogeking in the Enies Lobby arc as he did not want to face Luffy and the rest of the crew. After the Straw Hats successfully rescued Robin and defeated CP9, the crew members received new bounties. Usopp’s new bounty as Sogeking was 30 million.

What Other Lies Have Yet To Become True?

Usopp has spewed six lies that haven’t become true yet. These include:

WithOne Piece in its Final Saga, Usopp doesn’t have too much time to turn these lies into the truth. The medicine that can cure everything will probably be discovered by Chopper, who wants to become the greatest doctor in the world.

The lie about fighting Sea Kings is linked to the final battle against Imu. It has been stated that the water levels will surge again, bringing about a change to the geography of the entire world. The creatures living in the ocean will certainly be affected by it, and they might become more aggressive. Usopp’s lie/dream of becoming a brave warrior of the sea will probably come true whenhe fights the Blackbeard Piratesand beats Van Augur.
