2001’sSilent Hill 2is one of the most beloved horror games of all time, and the task of remaking it was practically Herculean. While developer Bloober Team had delivered some solid horror experiences withLayers of FearandThe Medium, it had never tackled a project on the same scale asSilent Hill 2 Remakebefore, and the pressure on the team must have felt insurmountable at times.
But against all odds, Bloober Team delivered the goods, with the recently releasedSilent Hill 2 Remakeearning favorable reviews from both fans and critics alike. Bloober Team has proven that it’s more than capable of producing excellent AAA remakes of beloved franchises, and after stating in a recent interview that “this is not the end of [Bloober’s] adventure with Konami,” it seems like Konami might have more projects it wants Bloober to tackle in the near future.
Bloober Team Could Continue Remaking Silent Hill
With Bloober Team exceeding expectations withSilent Hill 2 Remake, it would make sense for Konami to turn to the developer again for anotherSilent Hillremake. Aremake ofSilent Hill 3would probably be the most obvious choice, with the original releasing just two years after its predecessor and the two often being bundled together in previously released collections.Silent Hill 4: The Roomwould be an equally great choice for a Bloober Team remake, with it being a beloved entry that could certainly use some touch-ups in the combat department.
WithSilent Hill 2now under its belt, Bloober Team is equipped to handle pretty much anythingtheSilent Hillfranchisehas in store, with most of the games following a similar gameplay formula and adopting a similar visual aesthetic.
Bloober Team Could Remake The Original Metal Gears
Metal Gear Solidis one of the most popular gaming franchises out there, but few fans have actually completed the original set ofMetal Geartitles that kicked it all off back in the 1980s.1987’sMetal Gearsees players controlling Solid Snake as he seeks to locate and destroy the first titular bipedal, nuke-launching tank.Metal Gearis widely considered to be one of the earliest successes in the stealth genre, and it’d be great to see such an influential title get the full remake treatment.
Though Bloober Team is primarily a horror-focused studio, there are some lightstealth mechanics inSilent Hill 2Remake. With a bit of care and attention, these stealth mechanics could pave the way for aMetal Gearremake from Bloober, which could work as a nice companion to Konami’s upcomingMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterremake.
A Bloober Team Castlevania Remake or Reboot Could Work
WhileCastlevaniahas appeared inDead by Daylight,Dead Cells, and most recently,Vampire Survivors, the franchise itself hasn’t seen a new entry in a decade. At this point,Castlevaniaprobably needs a full reboot, and Bloober Team might be able to take the series in a bold new direction. A Bloober Team-ledCastlevaniareboot could focus more on the series' Gothic, supernatural horror, keeping the project in Bloober’s wheelhouse while also delivering a new kind ofCastlevaniaexperience.
