Summary
Overwatch 2is adding a new Mythic weapon skin for Soldier: 76 in Season 13 – and players have already gotten a first look at it in the update’s key art. Called Deliverance, this Mythic weapon skin should officially arrive inOverwatch 2in mid-November.
In Season 11,Overwatch 2released its inaugural Mythic weapon skinin the form of the Bound Demon for Reinhardt.Overwatch 2followed suit in Season 12 with the Midnight Sun Mythic weapon skin for Ana. Following the pattern of its predecessors, Season 13 is introducing a Mythic weapon skin for Soldier: 76 that, according to a single line in the release blog, is called Deliverance.
However, fans may have already seen this new Mythic weapon skin without realizing it. The key art forOverwatch 2Season 13 features the Mythic Spellbinder Widowmakerfront and center, with several other skins surrounding her, including a couple from theMy Hero Academiacrossover. Soldier: 76 can be seen behind Widowmaker – and though he is in his default appearance, he is wielding an extraordinary weapon. This is almost certainly a first look at Deliverance.
Overwatch 2 Season 13 Mythic Weapon Skin – Soldier: 76
PreviousMythic weapon skins inOverwatch 2have had four tiers of upgradesavailable for individual purchase, with a full ensemble going for 80 Mythic Prisms, or $40. The base weapon usually includes special UI elements and sounds, while the second tier unlocks reactivity – killstreaks for Reinhardt, and color changing based on healing or dealing damage for Ana – as well as more unique HUD features. The third tier grants a special weapon flourish animation, while the final tier features a special kill animation. It is safe to assume Soldier: 76’s weapon will follow a similar pattern.
Both Bound Demon andMidnight Sun came toOverwatch 2during the major updates halfway through their respective seasons. If Deliverance does as well, it will be released alongside Season 13’s mid-season patch, which will likely arrive on November 12 or 19.
Many fans were excited about the new Soldier: 76 Mythic weapon skin, and can’t wait to see it in action – though some were baffled by the canister of liquid seemingly attached to the bottom, saying it made the weapon look like a water gun. Others were disappointed that damage heroes got both Mythic skins for this season, even ifOverwatch 2has already done this type of weapon skin for a tank and healer. At the very least, they wish it would have been a hero other than Soldier: 76, as he already got acolor-changing Los Muertos Weapon Skin inOverwatch 2. Luckily, dissatisfied players can always save up their Mythic Prisms for future seasons.
