Halloween has always been an important time forPhasmophobia. Though theparanormal horror gamefirst hit early access in September 2020, it really hit its stride a month later, with countless Twitch streamers playing the game for Halloween.Phasmophobia’s innovative multiplayer mechanics and premise made it the ideal experience for those streaming to an audience, and it quickly became an overnight social media sensation.
For the last four years, developer Kinetic Games has continued to work with the community to expand and improvePhasmophobia. While the game isn’t quite ready for its full release just yet, it has just hit another major milestone, having launched on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation VR2. There’s no better way to celebrate this momentous occasion than with a big in-game event, andPhasmophobia’s 2024 Halloween event should keep fans busy this spooky season.
Phasmophobia’s Crimson Eye Event Explained
Available now on all platforms,Phasmophobia’s 2024 Halloween eventsees the return of last year’s Blood Moon. This Blood Moon has introduced some new weather effects to the game, turning the skies of several maps blood-red. This limited-time event will run until November 13, giving players just a few weeks to nab some deliciously spooky exclusive rewards.
DuringPhasmophobia’s Crimson Eye event, players will be asked to complete three objectives across the event’s four altered maps: Point Hope, Grafton Farmhouse, Edgefield Road, and Willow Street. Players will need to identify the map’s ghosts correctly, complete the optional objectives, and photograph any Blood Moon totems they find strewn across the map. Once photographed correctly, these totems will disappear.
Once all objectives have been completed, players need to interact with the Blood Altar located inPhasmophobia’s lobby area. As the community continues to complete these objectives and bank their Blood Points, the game will reward everyone with some exclusive cosmetics. Completing the first stage of the event’s community goals will reward everyone with a Blood Moon ID Card. Completing the second stage will grant them an Upgraded ID Card. Completing the final stage will present them with a Blood Moon Trophy and a permanent unlock for the Blood Moon weather effect.
However, completing these objectives might be easier said than done.Phasmophobia’s Crimson Eye event will increase enemy aggression and power, resulting in a more difficult experience for budding ghost hunters. Thankfully, players completing these more difficult matches will be given an extra 10% bonus for their post-match rewards. Players will also be able to keep track of the community’s progress viaPhasmophobia’s new Event Board, which can be found between the truck and the interior door of the Warehouse.
