OneAlienenthusiast has mounted a Xenomorph head on the top of their PS5, giving their console a striking new look. Xenomorphs, the main antagonists inAlien, are among the most popular sci-fi characters and are synonymous with the franchise.
In 1979, Ridley Scott’sAlienkicked off what would go on to become a long-running and influential sci-fi franchise. Over the span of around 45 years, the film IP has spawned nine different movies, with the latest being 2024’sAlien: Romulus. Apart from films, the franchise has also been adapted into other mediums, including video games, time and again. Most recently, asequel to 2014’sAlien: Isolationsurvival horror gamewas confirmed by Sega to be in early development amid ongoing rumors. In anticipation of the newly announced game, a passionateAlienfan recently customized their PS5 with anAlien-inspired look.
In a Reddit post, user davidmrizo shared his unique-looking PS5, which sports a 3D-printed Xenomorph attachment at the top. The PS5 mod shows theterrifying Xenomorph fromAlienin stunning detail, complete with a creepily textured jaw and a scarily sharp set of teeth. TheAlienfan revealed that they printed the console attachment usingSilverFox26’s designuploaded on Thingiverse. They also shared plans to further enhance their PS5’s appearance by replacing the default white console covers with matte black ones, which are also officially available on PlayStation’s website.

Several comments on the PlayStation subreddit rated theAlien-themed PS5’s look highly. One of them said that they “absolutely love” the PS5 mod, while another commended theAlienfan for getting creative with decorating their console. On the other hand, a few users expressed concerns over the attachment affecting thePS5’s thermalsby possibly blocking airflow. However, the owner vouched for the Xenomorph mod and stated that, since the head isn’t obstructively wide, the console vents have gaps “as if Alien wasn’t even there.” They added that there was no unnatural heating issue even after three hours of using the PS5 with the attachment installed on top.
In the past few years,Alienfans have had their fair share of fun with the franchise getting two different games, 2021’sAliens: Fireteam Eliteand 2023’sAliens: Dark Descent. This also marked a return for the IP to consoles after several mobile and VR releases. Apart from standalone games, the IP has also made its way onto other games in the form of additional content, like theAlien Chapter inDead by Daylightearlier this year. Further, another VR title calledAlien: Rogue Incursionis set to ship on July 12, 2025, giving fans something to look forward to.
