Summary
Mimes can be very creepy, as demonstrated by a spooky Mr. Mime cake onePokemonfan recently baked for Halloween. Mr. Mime was originally introduced inPokemon Red and Blue, and the clown-like creature has been the subject of many haunting memes ever since. While Mr. Mime is usually a cheerful and funny Psychic/Fairy Pokemon inPokemoncanon, the internet has naturally transformed it into all manner of nightmare-inducing monsters, especially after the live-actionDetective Pikachumovie presented a more realistic-looking version of the creature back in 2019.
The Barrier Pokemon has inspired plenty of creepy fan art and alternate designs over the years. Some players have usedPokemon Infinite Fusion, a fan-made app that combines existingPokemonsprites into new hybrid creatures, tocreate nightmarish Mr. Mime fusionsthat put twisted spins on fellow Generation 1 Pokemon like Pinsir, Ditto, and Tentacruel. With Halloween fast approaching, it was only a matter of time before someone made another terrifying version of Mr. Mime for the spooky holiday season.
A Reddit and Instagram user by the handle of Prof. Rosemary recently posted images of their homemade Mr. Mime cake in honor of the Halloween season. This creepy confection is a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, covered in painted modeling chocolate pieces crafted to look like anevil version of Mr. Mime. The mime’s ears are recreated using combed-out yarn attached to aluminum wire. A video posted to Prof. Rosemary’s Instagram gives a more detailed look into how the artist carved their layered cake into Mr. Mime’s twisted, wraith-like head.
This Fan-Made Mr. Mime Cake is Both Creepy and Delicious
This isn’t the first time that Prof. Rosemary baked a creepyPokemonconfection for Halloween, as they previously shared a similar dessert modeled after thespooky Ghost Pokemon Gengarback in 2023. They have also cooked up some non-HalloweenPokemontreats as well, including cute Fidough-inspired pastries, Bellossom bento boxes, and even a birthday cake shaped like Tinkaton’s massive hammer.
Many otherPokemonfans are getting into the Halloween spirit by sharing cute, 3D-printed figures of Togepi disguised as a Halloween pumpkin and creatingchilling variants of Pokemon like Gastlyand Snorlax. Mr. Mime is a natural fit for these kinds of redesigns given how creepy the creature looks already, and this probably won’t be the last time the clown-like Pokemon is presented in a more sinister light.
