In addition, two white sail-like protrusions were visible on the creature’s back, suggesting it could use the wind to help navigate. Sailord even had a horn-like projection at the tip of its head that resembled the bow of a boat.

Fortunately, Matratzfratz did not leave the idea to fans’ imaginations, as they shared a picture of this form of the new evolution relative to the Earth and the Moon. Among the other comments, many enjoyed the artist’s reference toSpongeBob SquarePantswhen describing what this Pokemon was used for. “The pioneers used to ride these babies for miles,” suggesting Sailord was utilized as a mode of transportation. The addition of the Flying type also suggests that the large sail-like protrusions on its back might have allowed it to take flight.
Creating new evolutions for Pokemon is a favorite hobby of many fan artists, and Matratzfratz has designed evolutions for other pocket monsters.
