Known as the Deceiver Pokemon, Mawile first appeared inPokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Originally a pure Steel-type Pokemon, Mawile was granted the Fairy-type as its secondary type and a Mega Evolution form in the sixth generation. With a human-shaped yellow body and red eyes on its face, Mawile is known for its large jaws on the back of its head, which are used to attack enemies with razor-sharp teeth. Upon Mega Evolving, Mega Mawile gains another set of black jaws atop its head and learns the ability Huge Power. With high attack and defense stats coupled with moves like Crunch and Play Rough, Mega Mawile is one ofthe most formidable Steel-type Pokemonin games that feature Mega Evolution.
Althoughfan art of Mawile has been done before, aPokemonfan crafted Mega Mawile in a way that stood out. On the r/pokemon subreddit, a Reddit user named MikaD0000 shared three images of their Mega Mawile crochet doll they made by hand. The first and third screenshots showcased Mega Mawile’s giant jaws, with each having 10 teeth and elongated bottom halves. The teeth were made out of white yarn and stitched to each respective jaw. The main body of the Deceiver Pokemon was made with magenta, yellow, and black yarn. White and red felt was used for Mega Mawile’s eyes, and some black yarn strands adorned its legs. Mega Mawile’s hands, feet, and front tendrils were attached to the main body as well. Although Mega Mawile’s jaws were shown in an elevated position, it is not clear what material MikaD0000 used for its battle pose.
Pokemon Fan Crafts Mega Mawile Crochet Doll
Although MikaD0000 planned to share a pattern of their creation, they said they gave up on that task due to the difficulty of putting Mega Mawile together. However, Mega Mawile was not the first time MikaD0000 crocheted aPokemondoll. In June 2024, MikaD0000 shareda Spiritomb crochet dollthey crafted, which was made with a combination of pink and green yarn. For their effort, MikaD0000 was praised by other r/pokemon users.
In response, onePokemonfan stated their hope that Mega Mawile would return alongside otherMega Pokemon in the upcomingPokemon Legends: Z-A. It remains to be seen if that’s the case.
