Summary
APokemonfan artist created a concept of what a Ground-based Regi would look like were it to exist, and shared their handiwork on social media for other trainers to see. ThePokemonfan artist was complimented by their peers for their work and answered some questions about what their creation could do in a Pokemon battle.
Known collectively by titles such as the Legendary Giants or Legendary Golems, the Regi first appeared inPokemon Ruby and Sapphire. The first Regis were a trio called Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, and finding each of them required Pokemon trainers to understand Braille to solve the riddles of their undersea chambers. The Regi trio was joined by their “master” inPokemon Diamond and Pearl, asRegigigas could only be fought and capturedif previous Regis were on a trainer’s Pokemon team. The Regi roster later expanded inPokemon Sword and Shield: The Crown Tundra, which saw the addition of Regidrago and Regieleki.
As part of an ongoing “Faketober"Pokemonfan art campaign on Instagram, an artist offered their version of aGround-type Regifor the occasion. A Reddit user named Dadragontype posted a screenshot of their Ground-type Regi on the r/pokemon subreddit. This creation was given the name “Regiterra” as a reference to the Earth it was created from, and Dadragontype stated it was based on traditional clay golems from mythology. Regiterra also had an exposed molten core inside its left shoulder, which drew potent energy from the nearby area. Regiterra’s face was covered in seven blue Braille dots, and it had a clay body with black arm cuffs and a seal nailed to its chest. This “Regi” seal, according to Dadragontype, was an item that a Pokemon trainer would use to awaken Regiterra from its slumber and battle it.

Dadragontype also said their clay-based creation took inspiration from a little Golem in Prague, and added that Regiterra’s body could be reshaped around its molten core, which could also be used for various attacks. If Regiterra existedas an official Legendary Pokemon, it would share the same Ground-type classification as Groudon. Dadragontype was complimented byPokemonfans for their work, with some drawing comparisons to Golurk.
In response to feedback, Dadragontype stated that “Regiground” would be the more likely name for an official Ground-type Regi, though they stood by their creation’s original name. WithPokemon Legends: Z-Astill in development, it remains to be seen if trainers will have a new Regi to uncover.
