Summary
APokemonfan artist recently combined Mimikyu and Scizor, coming up with a unique fusion of the popular creatures. While fusions are not available in official mainlinePokemongames, they have become incredibly popular in fan art, and this new design shows how creative the artists who imagine these unique designs can be.
Scizor is a Bug/Steel-type monster originally introduced in the second generation ofPokemongames. It evolves from Scyther when traded holding a Metal Coat, eventually gaining a Mega evolution. Mimikyu, on the other hand, is a bizarre Ghost/Fairy-type creature that first appeared inGen 7Pokemongames. What makes Mimikyu stand apart from other Pokemon is its strange Pikachu disguise, which makes its design popular with fan artists who want to explore this concept.
APokemonfan named rc1246 recently shared a new piece of fan art depicting a fusion of Mimikyu and Scizor as a Ghost/Steel-type monster. The artwork depicts a rather faithful recreation of a Mimikyu disguised as a Scizor, with the creature’s real arms and legs seen peaking out while clad in a Scizor costume. To add to the whimsy, the creature sports large puppet hands made out of foam, badly painted eyes, and ragged cloth wings. The fan artwork was quickly applauded by thePokemoncommunity, with multiple fans praising how the fusion is not only well-designed but also compatible with Mimikyu’s lore.
Pokemon Fan Art Depicts Unique Mimikyu and Scizor Fusion
This is not the first time that rc1246 has devised a fusion between popular Gen 7 Pokemon, as last year, theartist combined Togepi and Mimikyu. In this somewhat grim artwork, Mimikyu appears with menacing claws coming out of a Togepi’s eggshell as if the ghost was possessing it.
The artist has devised dozens of pieces ofPokemon-inspired art over the years, sharingDuskull and Skarmory fusionswith the community earlier this year. In this artwork, both creatures were recreated with details from the other, resulting in one ghost-like bird creature with sharp claws and a metal mask, as well as a Pokemon that looked like a black and red skeletal vulture.
Other artists have also shared Mimikyu fan art with the community. Onefan devised an evolution for Mimikyu, which depicted the Pokemon getting bigger and abandoning its worn-out Pikachu disguise. Hopefully, otherPokemonfans will continue to design amazing fusions and share them with the community, with upcoming games promising to further inspire fans of the incredibly popular franchise.
