The month kicked off with the Sewaddle Community Day, and the much anticipatedHalloween event will take place inPokemon GOin late October. Rumors also suggest that the Gigantamax feature might be introduced as part of the upcoming Halloween events, but the developers have not provided an official statement. Meanwhile, there is another new event right around the corner inPokemon GO, but only some players will be able to participate.
In anew blog post, Niantic announced its upcoming regional event forPokemon GO. The Festival of Lights event will take place inPokemon GOfrom November 1 to June 21, 2025 and will only be available for players in India. The festivities will add an all-newregional costumed Pokemon inPokemon GO, though the exact details will be revealed on October 16. Apart from that, there are a plethora of bonuses for players to enjoy during the highly anticipated event.
Pokemon GO Festival of Lights Event Schedule
Fans will receive twice the amount of Stardust and XP for catching Pokemon, and the spawn rate of Team GO Rocket Grunts will also be increased. Considering thatTeam GO Rocket lineups inPokemon GOwere recently revamped, this will be a great opportunity for players to catch some new Pokemon. Along with that, the duration of Incense will also be increased to three hours for the entirety of the event.
There are additional spawn boosts on the way as well, with several Pokemon set to appear more frequently when players use Incense. These include Alolan Geodude, Hisuian Voltorb, Slugma, Volbeat, Illumise, Litwick, Morelull, and Tadbulb. Along with that, Hisuian Voltorb, Dedenne, Morelull, and an unannounced Pokemon will also spawn inPokemon GOraids. Last but not least, new Field Research will give players Morelull, Tadbulb, and a mystery encounter, which will likely be the new regional costumed Pokemon that is set to debut during the event. Although not everyone will be able to participate in the Festival of Lights event, Pokemon GO fans from around the world are eager to see which Pokemon will be donning a new costume for 2024.
