Summary
Niantic is testing an interesting change for Gyms, which will double the number of Raid battles per Gym during the Mawile Raid Day inPokemon GO. The developers have been experimenting with several changes toPokemon GORaids recently, and a few of these haven’t been well received by fans.
There has been a flurry of new events inPokemon GOover the past few days. FromPokemon GO’s annual Halloween eventto the regional Festival of Lights, there is plenty of exciting content for players to look forward to. As the much-anticipated Mawile Raid Day for the Max Out season draws closer, Niantic has outlined a change that could potentially impact all Raid Days going forward.
In a new tweet, Niantic reveals an exciting change that will be rolling out forPokemon GOplayers. The number of Raids per Gym will be doubled during thePokemon GOMawile Raid Day, which is slated to take place on October 12th. However, this will only apply to select locations. The developers have not specified which locations will follow these new regulations, but fans expect it to primarily focus on smaller locations.
Pokemon GO Mawile Raid Day Schedule
During Raid Days, players get a time window of three hours to take part inRaids. Typically, Raids at each Gym respawn every hour. However, with the new change, players will be able to take part in two Raids per hour, which will make it quite similar to the Raid Hour event. While Niantic has not detailed whether the Raids will occur every 25 or 30 minutes, fans expect the former, as it is what is used for Raid Hours as well. However, fans have pointed out that having it every 25 minutes is a bit frustrating, as players are left waiting between Raids with little to do.
Apart from that, the fact that Niantic hasn’t revealed which locations will get these new Raids is something fans aren’t happy with. Many noted that the specifying locations in advance would enable the players to plan better, allowing them to squeeze in more battles during the event. Additionally, fans are also concerned that this change could lead to a lot of other bugs and potentially lead to a makeup event. Whether this change will actually benefit fans, especially thosePokemon GOplayers who reside in rural areas, is something that remains to be seen.
