Now, fans in China are getting a new Mythical Pokemon.
As reported by GoNintendo, The Pokemon Company recently announced a special new distribution campaign for thePokemon Let’s Gogames in China. For a limited time,fans ofPokemon Let’s Go PikachuandLet’s Go Eeveewill be able to acquire Meltan with a special distribution code, exclusive to the Chinese versions. Fans looking to pick up the Meltan will need to have a Nintendo Switch from the China region to acquire the Pokemon, with the code set to work until June 26, 2025.
Pokemon Let’s Go Announces Meltan Distribution Event in China
Meltan’s addition to the Chinese version ofPokemon Let’s Gocomes as the Pokemon has been one of the franchise’s most elusive.Meltan is still only available throughPokemon GO, requiring fans to complete a series of Special Research missions to acquire the Pokemon. Meltan can only be brought intoPokemon’s mainline games through transferring it into theLet’s Gogames, then usingPokemon Hometo bring Meltan to the eighth-generation games. Meltan is not currently available inPokemon Scarlet and Violet.
ThePokemon Let’s Gogames' newfound availability in China comes as the games have been the subject of plenty of rumors. Speculation swirled earlier this year that The Pokemon Company may be developingJohto sequels to theLet’s Gogames, though nothing has come of those rumors yet. The Pokemon Company has also already announced the next major game in the franchise, confirmingPokemon Legends: Z-Aas a follow-up to 2022’sPokemon Legends: Arceus. While no newLet’s Gogames may be coming,Pokemonlooks to have plenty on the way for fans.
