As the first major content update sinceDawntrail’s July release, the main story of Patch 7.1 will start tying up some loose ends and focus on characters met during the expansion. Aside from the main story, the 7.1 update will include the first wing of the Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid series, Jeuno: The First Walk, named after one of the main city-states ofFinal Fantasy 11. Other features such as the Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) raid and the next chapter of the popular Hildibrand quest series will arrive in smaller content patches after Patch 7.1.
Although the Crossroads update will not be released until mid-November, the return of this popular event may give players a clue as to when the patch could drop.According to Square Enix, the latest Moogle Treasure Trove event will begin on Tuesday, October 15, at 4:00 AM Eastern, and end once theFinal Fantasy 14servers go down for maintenance ahead of Patch 7.1. DuringEndwalker, Moogle Treasure Trove events lasted four weeks before concluding when a major patch was released. If this pattern holds, Patch 7.1 may launch on November 12, which would fit the update’s mid-November release window. Subtitled The Hunt for Goetia, this new Moogle Treasure Trove event will usethe same reward structure that the previous Hunt for Genesisutilized.

Final Fantasy 14players can earn a currency called “Irregular Tomestones of Goetia” during the event, which can be exchanged for rewards such as the Donut Earring, the draconic Innocent Gwiber mount, and the Hades Barding for chocobos. Irregular Tomestones of Goetia can be earned by completing objectives listed in the Mogpendium, including dungeons, Triple Triad, The Hunt, andgroup activities like Ocean Fishing. Some objectives can be done weekly, while the Ultimog Challenge can only be done once per event.
As Square Enixcontinues to work on Patch 7.1’s main features, the upcoming Moogle Treasure Trove event will allow players to score rare rewards. Only time will tell what challenges awaitFinal Fantasy 14players once the event goes live.
