The next mainline installment in Capcom’s long-running franchise was originally announced in late 2023 during The Game Awards.Monster Hunter Wildsis planned to hit the market on June 02, 2025.
Ahead of its release, the game will hold an open beta, which PS Plus members will be able to try before everyone else. As announced during theOctober 23Monster Hunter WildsShowcase, the ARPG’s test is planned to take place in two stages, with the PS Plus-exclusive one running from 8pm PT on October 28 to 7:59pm PT on October 30, which is Monday through Wednesday. Following a 24-hour break, the second part of the test will kick off at 8pm PT on October 31 and run until 6:59pm PT on November 3. This stage will be open to both Steam and Xbox Series X/S users, as well as PS5 owners without a PS Plus subscription.

Although the second part of the test won’t require a PS Plus or Xbox Game Pass membership, console owners wanting to play the finished product online will still need Sony or Microsoft’s subscription service to do so, as is tradition. Anyone who participates in the open beta will receive some bonuses that they’ll be able to claim in thefull version ofMonster Hunter Wilds. This reward pool includes a cute Palico pendant and an item pack comprising multiple Mega Potions, Armor Spheres, Nulberries, and Rations, among other consumables.

Regarding the scope of the test, the demo will include the character creator used for designing one’svoicedMonster Hunter Wildshunterand their Palico. From there, players will be able to experience a small portion of the game’s story, including the tutorial Chatacabra hunt and the subsequent Doshaguma hunt.
SOS Flares for calling up to three NPC hunters will be available during both quests, as will the rideable bipedal bird Seikret. Cross-platform multiplayer will be part of the demo package as well. Players will be able to transfer their hunter and Palico to the full version of the game, but no other data will carry over from the beta.
