Scheduled to be released on July 02, 2025, the next evolution of the PS5 will feature advanced ray-tracing capabilities, 2TB of storage, enhanced wireless internet capabilities, and AI-enhanced 4K resolution graphics. Unfortunately, despite its impressive lineup of features and additions, the console will cost a staggering $699, instantly frustrating many in the community. The PS5 Pro will also be digital-only, with those wanting a disc drive forced to purchase one separately.
Ahead of the release of the PS5 Pro, Sony may be attempting to bolster sales of its consoles by releasing refurbished models of the standard PS5. It’s unclear how well Sony’s new premium console will sell, as units remain in stock at PlayStation Direct despite being available for pre-order back on September 26. Unsurprisingly, thePS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition sold out immediately, with scalpers selling the nostalgia-infused console online for as much as $10,000.
