Despite the incredible roster size, beating out the previous entry,Sparking Zerois still missing quite a few characters fromBudokai Tenkaichi 3. Many fans were shocked at the exclusions of characters like Videl’s Great Saiyaman 2 alter ego, Demon King Piccolo, or even Super 17, a major villain fromDragon Ball GT. Based on some recent findings, these characters were originally planned forSparking Zeroat one point, before it had to be scaled back.
In a thread posted byMondoMega on BlueSky, she found leftover data that pointed to various characters being cut from the base game. MondoMega noted that, while references toSparking Zero’s upcomingSuper HeroandDaimaDLCwere scrubbed, there were various internal character IDs associated with a list of names that refer to various characters who are currently not playable in the game. These include characters who were originally inBudokai Tenakichi 3’s roster, but were cut for some reason, with the data left intact.
Every Missing Fighter and Form Mentioned in Sparking Zero’s Internal Data
Some ofthe missing fighters fromBudokai Tenkaichi 3include the Supreme Kai, Pikkon, Demon King Piccolo, and Super 17, among others. MondoMega speculates that some of these alternate characters will be added as DLC later down the road. She also found strong evidence of other transformations having been scrapped, such as Great Ape Kid Goku, as well as the base forms of characters like Garlic Jr., Kakunsa, and Ribrianne, with the versions currently available to play being internally treated as “first form” transformations rather than a base form. A number of new characters fromDragon Ball Superwere also listed, such as Champa, Tagoma, Future Mai, and many others.
This theory may have some credence, asa Martial Arts pack forDragon Ball: Sparking Zerowas leakedfairly recently as well, though the contents of the Martial Arts Pack haven’t been revealed yet. Fans should still keep their expectations in check, and wait until Spike Chunsoft and Bandai Namco give more official information.
