These fears have proven to be unfounded, with 94% of critics currently recommending the game on OpenCritic and sales continuing to climb.
Bloober Team has deployed the first major patch for theSilent Hill 2remake, bringing some helpful bug fixes and technical improvements. An issue in the Abstract Daddy boss fight has been fixed, in which the enemy failed to hit James properly. Additionally, problems with the Spider Mannequins have been addressed, along with a more humorous bug causing James to teleport through a peephole in Brookhaven Hospital. It will also now be easier to pick up items duringthe final boss fight in theSilent Hill 2remake.
On the technical side of things, the newupdate for theSilent Hill 2remakereduces visual glitches when using the latest version of Nvidia DLSS on PC and adds DLSS Frame Generation support when using DLSS for supersampling. Support for AMD FSR 3.1.1. has also been added, and those playing theSilent Hill 2remake on Steam Deck can expect improved performance going forward. All graphic settings are now saved locally, and stuttering issues relating to sky map generation have been fixed.
Following the monumental success of the survival horror game,Bloober Team wants to remake moreSilent Hillgames, and is also open to developing entirely new titles in the long-running series. While there are no concrete plans for the future ofSilent Hilljust yet, fans are eager to see the first game in the series remade for modern hardware, while more underrated titles likeSilent Hill 4,Origins, orDownpourcould also find new life and new fans in the future.
