Bloober Team and Konami have released a new update for theSilent Hill 2remake that fixes a big problem with the Italian subtitles. TheSilent Hill 2remake has proven to be a big hit with fans and critics alike. There’s been a great deal of praise for the game, with many hailing it as a worthy redo of the beloved 2001 original.
Silent Hill 2remake reviews have been glowing, but that doesn’t mean that the game is perfect. Like most modern games,Silent Hill 2remake will be receiving post-launch updates to address any lingering problems, with one such problem quickly addressed by the development team.
As pointed out by PlayStation Lifestyle, an update was issued for theSilent Hill 2remake that fixed a problem where the Italian language version of the game was hitting players with a huge spoiler. I won’t spoil things here, but the gist of it is that one of the game’s plot twists was being prematurely revealed by the Italian subtitles. What’s worse is that this spoiler came at the very beginning of theSilent Hill 2remake, which is especially unfortunate for Italian players using subtitles. Luckily, disaster was mostly avoided as the update seemingly went out duringSilent Hill 2’s early access period, and so the bulk of players were able to avoid the spoilers.

The officialSilent Hill 2remake release date was October 8, but those willing to pay a little extra for the Digital Deluxe Edition were able to secure two days early access.Silent Hill 2early access playerswere able to start on October 6, and the update seems to have gone out on October 7, or thereabouts. Players using Italian subtitles when booting up the game after its official release date should have been able to avoid the unfortunate spoilers - assuming they updated their copy ofSilent Hill 2to the latest version, that is.
I didn’t experience any technical issues or glitches during my time with theSilent Hill 2remake, and so it doesn’t seem necessary for the game to receive too many post-launch updates. It’s possible that there are plans for DLC or something, but as it stands, theSilent Hill 2remake is already polished to a sheen. Maybe there are problems I missed during my playthrough thatdeveloper Bloober Teamwill fix with future updates, but for the most part,Silent Hill 2seems like the complete package already.
