Reddit user TheRaimundCosplay shared their incredible recreation of the Ebony War Axe fromSkyrim. Likeother recreations ofSkyrimweapons, the creator was able to nearly perfectly replicate the axe and its gorgeous details, including the swirly designs on the axe head. The poster shared that the axe was made out of 1045 and mild steel and that a variety of different forging methods were utilized, with welding being the primary method used. A wrap on the handle was also made out of real leather, adding to the authenticity of this recreation.
Incredible Ebony War Axe Recreation is True to the Original and Functional
The creator also shared that their Ebony War Axe is functional and can be wielded like it is in-game, albeit it is a little on the heavy side, weighing in somewhere between five and six pounds. Despite its weight,theSkyrimaxe recreation is made to be wielded with one handand can do some serious damage. The creator shared that because of this, some modifications were made for safety reasons. This includes the fact that they shortened the back spike on the axe head as the foam version of the weapon would consistently hit their shoulder during test swings.
Despite the modifications, the axe still received high praise from otherSkyrimfans online, many of whom were incredibly impressed with the craftsmanship and skill of the original poster.
