Summary
AStarfieldplayer has noticed a funny ship oversight in Bethesda’s RPG, which is difficult to unsee after it has been noticed for the first time. Although there are lots of intended details to find inStarfield, it’s often more interesting to see the unintended errors.
In a game as vast asStarfield, there are bound to be plenty of small errors that slip through the cracks during development. Most of the time, these are totally understandable and don’t have any real effect on gameplay. It’s easy to see the funny side of things like this. There was anotherStarfieldplayer who noticed a detail about the game’s baseballitem a little while ago, which raised questions about its historical accuracy. While it’s interesting to see these errors and speculate about how they might have happened, they don’t exactly say anything substantial aboutStarfield’s quality as a whole.
Redditor Sevrahn noticed that whilebuilding their ownStarfieldship, the Dragon 251P UV Pulse Laser ship module doesn’t line up with its texture. Instead, it reads “Dragon 241,” which is obviously not quite right. Given this has only been noticed by players now, it’s certainly not a game-breaking issue, but it is interesting to see nonetheless. The Dragon 241 Laser is a ship module by itself, so it seems to be a case of a reused texture that Bethesda hasn’t altered.
Starfield Player Notices Incorrect Texture Oversight
Some gamers in the thread took a completely different approach, instead choosing to make up some of their ownStarfieldloreto make this particular error make sense. One player rationalized it as the result of “what happens when you buy your gear from shady ship techs. You buy what you think is a 251P, but they just refurbished one using old 241 parts.” While this likely isn’t the case with Bethesda’s error, it’s a theory that makes a ton of sense in theStarfielduniverse.
It will be interesting to see what happens with theStarfieldfranchise going forward. Bethesda seems very committed to making it part of its regular rotation of games, but after the split fan reception of the base title, andreviews forStarfield: Shattered Spacefalling to “Mostly Negative"on Steam, not everyone would be happy to see futureFalloutandElder Scrollsgames take longer as a result. It’s an interesting conundrum for the studio, one that will likely take years for gamers to find Bethesda’s answer to.
