Summary
Warriors and monsters alike are seen pursuing strength in theDanMachiseries to achieve their goals. When it comes to strength, the truly powerful are a small group of elites that could take on most adventurers in Orario if need be.
Many would argue thatthe gods in theDanMachiseriesshould be considered at the absolute pinnacle of strength, and for good reason; however, their general inability to use their divine powers leaves them out of most “power” discussions, leaving the title of “strongest” to fall to downright calamities like the Black Dragon and legendary heroes—both those of the past and those still rising.

10Ais
The Sword Princess
The Sword princess of Orario is known far and wide for good reason. Not only is she powerful, but the grace and charm she exhibits have many adventurers becomingenchanted with her very presence. As a character, Ais sports a wide range of skills and abilities that make her a formidable fighter, such as Avenger and Ariel.
As a child, Ais pursued strength with all she had, even indulging in self-destructive tendencies. While these tendencies have reduced, her pursuit for strength hasn’t. Compared to other adventurers, Ais is much more skilled against monsters than she is against humans.
9Asterius
The Strongest Of The Xenos
A Xenos that can match a level 7 adventurer is a big threat to many in Orario. Luckily, Asterius and his kind don’t seek to kill humans wantonly but co-exist, even if Asterius is one who thoroughly enjoys battle.
As a Xenos, Asterius isthe reincarnation of the Minotaurthat Bell iconically defeated. Being reborn, he sees Bell as his rival, even though he’ll utterly overpower the current Bell Cranel with his newfound strength and intelligence. As a character, Asterius is possibly the strongest of the Xenos, and after properly training his technique, he’ll become even stronger.
8Finn
A True All-Rounder In Combat And Strategy
The Captain of the Loki familia sports a small stature at 3'11", but in no way is he to be underestimated. Finn is well known for his balanced abilities combined with his genius intellect. When it comes to strategy and processing information, few do it like this adventurer.
As a level 6 adventurer, Finn was able to rival level 7s with his ability, Hell Finegas, which drastically improves his battle ability at the cost of reason. Even without this ability, Finn is a very tough person to deal with, but with it, he catapults himself into being one of Orario’s strongest.
7Ottar
The Strongest Of The Current Generation
Of the current adventurers in theDanMachiseries, Ottar might as well be the strongest. This level 7 adventurer grew up with level 8 and 9 adventures fromthe Zeus and Hera familia, and so, he realizes his inadequacies even with his many titles.
As a powerful warrior, Ottar is stoic and realizes his many faults but does not gloat about them, nor does he deny his strengths. He isthe captain of the Freya familiaand is deeply loyal to his goddess, further believing individuals who catch her attention need to meet a minimum requirement. This adventurer continually seeks to become stronger with each passing day, never letting his perceived strength sidetrack him.
6Alfia
Talent Beyond Reason
Very little is known about Alfia, Bell Cranel’s aunt; however, her talent defied all rhyme and reason. She was ridiculously powerful, believing herself to have even stolen her sister’s talent as their combat abilities differed by a large margin.
While she was immensely strong, Alfia still loses out to characters like Zald and Empress; however, it’s said that she would’ve been more powerful than them if they were on the same level. As a level 7 adventurer, Alfia had the power todestroy the entire 18th floorand was the one who dealt the killing blow to Leviathan, a beast of legend.
5Zald
A Villain With Purpose
Zald was an executive of the Zeus familia and, with Alfia, decided to serve as part of Evilus to improve the overall strength of Orariowhile playing the part of a villain. He was a powerful and determined man who cared nothing about fame and did as he deemed fit.
One of Zald’s abilities, Deus Ambrosia, allowed him to gain a permanent increase in his stats depending on what he ate. Due to this, Zald consumed many things, including the Behemoth. Unfortunately, that led to him being poisoned and getting gradually weakened over the rest of his lifespan.
4Empress
A Level 9 Adventurer
As her real name in theDanMachiseries has not been revealed; the name “Empress” is, in fact, a moniker.
During her time, Empress, the then captain of the Hera familia, was the highest-level adventurer in all of Orario, being level 9. Her power was unmatched, and her talent even greater. Being able to lead the Hera familia in such tumultuous times and with someone like Alfia being in the same familia speaks volumes about Empress’ true strength and leadership qualities.
While many wonder about Empress’ true stats, as they play a huge role irrespective of an adventurer’s level, she was without a doubt impressive, being able to lead her familia in competing and allying with the Zeus familia.
3Maxim
The Legendary Captain Of The Zeus Familia
The Hera and Zeus familia were known as the strongest in Orario before they weredefeated by the One-Eyed Black Dragonand eventually chased out of the labyrinth city. The Captain of the Zeus familia, Maxim, was a level 8 warrior whom few could match.
It’s said that if he and Zald ever engaged in a battle, he’d be more likely to come out as the victor. As an adventurer and captain of the Zeus familia, Maxim successfully led the Zeus familia during their prime and won many battles. Unfortunately, the battle against the One-Eyed Black Dragon was unsuccessful, which eventually led to the disbanding of the Zeus familia.
2Albert Waldstein
The Greatest Hero In All Orario
According to the author ofDanMachi, Albert Waldstein, the father of Ais Wallenstein, is known as thestrongest warrior and greatest heroin all of Orario. While he was alive, Albert was hailed as the Mercenary King and Sword Champion, a similar title to what his daughter bears today.
Many of Albert’s true abilities are unknown, but it was he who turned the Black Dragon into the One-Eyed Black Dragon, gouging out one of its eyes during their battle. While he ultimately lost the battle against the beast, Albert managed to drive the foe away, a feat that speaks for itself.
1One-Eyed Black Dragon
A Beast Akin To A Calamity
Known for its immense power, the One-Eyed Black Dragon escaped the dungeon alongside the Leviathan and Behemoth and terrorized the world. After the gods descended from heaven, they created a quest to kill the dragon, showing how important and noteworthy it is. While the Leviathan and Behemoth monsters were killed by the Hera and Zeus familias, they were easily obliterated by the dragon.
This beast drives many of the narratives in theDanMachiseries. It destroyed the Hera and Zeus familias,the most powerful familias in Orarioat the time, and is what Ais constantly pursues power to defeat. Interestingly, Hermes is also pushing Bell from behind the scenes to train him into a warrior capable of killing the dragon.
