The developers behindSuper Mario Party Jamboreehave released a day-one update that players will need to download to use some of the game’s features. While the patch comes mere hours before the official launch ofSuper Mario Party Jamboree, it provides some necessary bug fixes and gives players the ability to access online features.
In the United States,Super Mario Party Jamboreeis set to be releasedin the evening hours of October 16, while European players will get their chance to jump into the game early on October 17. The 13th major title in theMario Partyseries, which traces its roots back to the Nintendo 64 in 1998, the title will build on the franchise’s familiar gameplay as up to four players take on the roles of popular Nintendo characters and race around a board while competing in mini-games.
Even ahead of its launch,Super Mario Party Jamboreehas received great reviews. The game currently has an average score of 81 on OpenCritic, making it the highest-reviewed game inMario Partyfranchise history, with 2021’sMario Party Superstarsin second place with a score of 79 andSuper Mario Partyscoring 77. The new game sports a collection of 110 mini-games, the largest selection in franchise history, as well as five new game boards.
While the game was only announced on June 18, some fans of the series have already had achance to playSuper Mario Party Jamboreeearly. In addition to those who received pre-release codes for the game, some Target, Best Buy, and GameStop locations in the United States added kiosks with playable versions of the game in early October. According to Nintendo, players who received early access to the game will still be able to access their old save data after installing the day-one patch.
