A new teaser trailer posted to the official YouTube channel of VIZ Media revealed that the critically acclaimedVagabondmanga, created byTakehiko Inoue ofSlam Dunkfame, will be getting a reprint. The first volume ofVagabond: Definitive Editionwill be released on Jul 16, 2025.

The format of this edition will be the same as the 3-in-1 sets that most long-running manga are published in, in addition to the standard standalone “tankōbon” format. It is also available to pre-order from “wherever books are sold”. TheVagabond: Definitive Editionteaser trailer can be seen below.

What is Vagabond?

A Highly Regarded Seinen Manga

Takehiko Inoue’sVagabondis described asan epic martial arts mangathat is a fictionalized story of the journey of real-life swordsman Shinmen Takezō, better known as the legendary Musashi Miyamoto. The series is based on Eiji Yoshikawa’s 1935 novel,Musashi, and has been serialized in Kodansha’s seinen manga magazine, Morning, since September 1998. It has been collected into 37 volumes as of July 2014, with VIZ Media publishing the manga in English.

Vagabond has been on an indefinite hiatus since May 2015, but having sold 82 million copies, it is one of the best-selling manga of all time and, in 2000, won the 24th Kodansha Manga Award for the general category as well as the Grand Prize of the sixth Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize in 2002, while the US print of the series was nominated for the Will Eisner Award in 2003 in the Best Writer/Artist category.
