Leone has now revealed in an interview withEntertainment Weeklythat he’s looking to release an extended cut ofTerrifier 3, which wasn’t something fans expected him to do. Leone revealed that there’s a “very good chance that there’ll be an extended version down the line”. Leone added that it’s “not something I’m so eager to do, and also, I don’t think a lot of fans would be happy.”

This quote is a bit confusing. Judging by Leone’s comments, it sounds as though he is going to make an extended cut ofTerrifier 3, but he then goes on to add that he isn’t that looking forward to doing it, and he doesn’t think that fans are going to be happy. It’s a rather odd thing to say because it does seem as though, given how many people have gone to watch the movie, fans would love to see more scenes ofArt the Clown cutting people upin an extended version ofTerrifier 3.

Perhaps Leone just isn’t looking forward to the process of actually going through all the scenes that were left on the ‘cutting’ room floor and trying to work out which ones to add in this extended cut. Normally, filmmakers would jump at the opportunity to make a longer version of their movies. They seem to enjoy adding as many scenes as they can, and the difficult part is trying to work out which scenes to cut. An extended cut of a movie tends to give filmmakers the chance to tell the whole story they intended to tell without any compromises. It has to be said that this doesn’t always result in a better film. Films can benefit from being cut a bit as it helps with pacing and makes the film’s plot move along faster.

It’s going to be fascinating to see what ends up happening with this extended cut ofTerrifier 3and whether fans react well to it or not. Whatever happens, this longer version of the movie will undoubtedly have evenmore scenes of gore involving Art the Clown, chainsaws, hammers and whatever other weapons he decides to use on his poor victims.

Terrifier 3is available to watch in cinemas around the globe right now.
