TheAmerican Horror Storiesseason 4 trailer shares some details aboutfive creepy episodes: “Backrooms,” “The Thing Under the Bed,” “Clone,” “Leprechaun,” and “X.“Fans can guess what each episode will be about based on those titles, as there is clearly a clone and a leprechaun. However, viewers don’t know who any of the new characters are, or what big twists will be revealed at the end of each episode.American Horror Storiesalways delivers the unexpected, and fans can likely look forward to that in season 4. The trailer forAmerican Horror Storiesseason 4 opens with one character saying “When she dreams, things happen” and another one stating, “We’re coming for you, father.” Those two lines alone are incredibly eerie and suggest that the new episodes will be as genuinely scary and unnerving as the other three seasons. One episode appears to be about a monster under the bed, which is great since this is a classic horror trope that always works well. In another quick moment in the trailer, a creature races across the windshield of a car. Althoughit’s unclear which characters will be featured in the upcoming season, they will likely be a mix of likable and terrible, as has been the case in the past.

Previous seasons ofAmerican Horror Storieshave tackledthe urban legend of Bloody Mary,a scary Internet friend who is not what they seem, and a freaky take on Christmas, to name the plotlines of a few episodes. WhileAmerican Horror Storiesseason 1, episode 6, “Feral” is about a creature in the woods,it looks like season 4 will focus on monsters more than the previous three seasons. There aremany horror tropes about monsters, from Monster of the Weekto Monster Town, Monster Clown, and Monster Anonymous. It will be interesting to see if any of these tropes make it intoAmerican Horror Storiesseason 4.
